IHOP — Restaurant in Foster City

Update the bottom is from past experiences. But just left this place and customer service was awful today. Went in with my family. We ordered coffee while we waited for the rest of the party. The servers name was Osvaldo, kept coming by asking if we were ready to order even though we told him we were waiting on two more. His tone was rude. Not customer service like. We had some issues on substitutes and ordering. He said cant be done. We insisted and he said he would ask his manager but he's worked there so long and he knows. So my sister asked.. "that's fine how much is the substitution?" He said "I don't know I have to check" Final straw was when the manager Efren said he was taking over and he had to retake the whole order of 6 to make sure it's right. His tone was rude as well. We told him we are leaving he said go ahead. We weren't having the customer experience we have had in the past so I'm dropping my 5 stars to 1.. yes based on one experience. Other servers are great usually but all it takes is one bad experience to get a bad review. Hope this change management and make this store right again. All this from not having people skills and making their guest feel horrible. Look at my last post. I left it so that hopefully someone takes notice on how a great experience can change with toxic staff. Change your management IHOP foster city!

We love IHOP and servers are always really quick friendly.. on it! Even at late night hours. Coffee is great here too

I was humiliated in front of my family and multiple strangers. I came in with my Starbucks cup to rinse out & have breakfast with my children. 3 employees targeted me and confronted me for having brought a cup from outside of their establishment. I wasn't planning on drinking it anymore because it was cold. I have a new car, and I didn't want the smell of coffee overpowering the new car smell. I simply wanted to rinse it out but have breakfast there. The manager made me leave my cup on the countertop. I felt super embarrassed for not knowing their policy and for merely wanting to rinse my cup out. The wait for the food was so long that my EV had plenty of time to fully charge. The food was great, though. Too bad they ruined my experience there. I wasn't parked there since I parked at the EVgo near the fire station. We walked over, so if they expected me to take it back to my car, we would have never...

Open 24 hours on Friday and Saturday, but super understaffed with only 1-2 waitstaff for the entire restaurant, so it took a long time. Felt like dessert and wanted to get a waffles a la mode, but none found, which was surprising. Belgian waffles were ungodly expensive as an a la carte item, at $6.99, so their 7 for $7 menu that included a chicken n' waffles dish was a great value, and I asked for my waffles on the side. I ordered ice cream so I could make it myself, but their measly 1 scoop at $1.99 made it a terrible value, plus they only had vanilla and no other favors. I may just have to work harder to find a late night joint with waffles a la mode.

Their specials menu had a page to try out new types of pancakes, and I found that the red velvet pancakes plus the combo that came with 2 eggs, hash browns, and bacon was a great...
