TownePlace Suites San Mateo Foster City is not a pet friendly hotel. you are subjected to discrimination if you have a dog and they put you in the most horrible rooms to punish you. Recently, I stayed at TownePlace Suites San Mateo Foster City over a weekend with my small dog that is very quiet and friendly. I was forced to stay at the ground level at the noisy where all the guests with dogs have to stay. At other TownPlace Suites in California I always stayed at second or third levels with my dog. The hotel policy is to keep all the guests with dogs in the very same rooms over and over again and treating the rooms with harsh chemicals (called pet cleaning, what a joke!). TownePlace Suites San Mateo Foster City makes the dogs very sick and creates a situation that causes dogs to bark all the time due to the very close proximity. My dog was very quiet the entire time but the dog next door barked all night and I never got any sleep. As a result of excessive harmful chemical sprays in my room, my dog became very sick from inhaling the chemical fumes and I had to take her to the vet. Additionally the entire room smelled very strongly of chlorine bleach fumes. Who uses chlorine bleach these days? How about keeping environmentally safe rooms? I bit the hotel manager has never heard of environmentally safe cleaning. I never smelled chlorine bleach at other Townplace Suites. At TownePlace Suites by Marriott San Mateo Foster City, I could not breath in my room due to inhaling the strong chlorine bleach fumes and my dog became very sick and I had to take her to the vet. The entire bedding was bleached with chlorine bleach and the bleach fumes were horrible. My dog scratched herself so much due to chemical poisonings from the fumes that her skin peeled off and was bleeding. Additionally, my room was right next to the hospitality room and the cleaning workers began making noises early Sunday morning and did not let me get any sleep. Initially I asked the front desk to give me a room on the upper floors but the guy at the front desk said the hotel manager would kill him if he puts me on the upper levels because I had a dog with me. I will never stay at TownePlace Suites San Mateo Foster City again because it is not a pet friendly hotel. I was descriminated against and they put you in the most horrible room to punish me. I am a gold member and always stay at other Townplace suites with my dog but never had this awful experience before. I will never stay at TownePlace Suites by Marriott San Mateo...

I recently spent two weeks at Towneplace Suites, paying a premium rate of around $300 per night. I hoped it would be a comfortable and stress-free accommodation.
What I didn't expect, however, was to discover a severe infestation of bed bugs in my room - a dreadful oversight that is utterly unacceptable for any establishment, let alone one that charges such high rates.
Throughout my two-week stay, I began to notice a series of bites appearing across my body. Given that bed bug bites can take up to 14 days to manifest, the timing made it clear that this problem originated in my room at the Towneplace Suites. As evidence, I've attached a photo showcasing the severity of the bites that I'm now forced to endure. I have around 20 bites with the same severity.
Upon discovering this issue, I immediately approached the hotel staff, hoping for swift action and perhaps an apology. Instead, I was met with dismissive reassurances, claiming that the infestation did not stem from my room. My attempts to escalate the issue were met with deafening silence, as the hotel manager failed to respond to my complaints.
The severity of this infestation and the response, or lack thereof, from the hotel management reflect poorly on the standard of service provided by the Towneplace Suites. Their failure to accept responsibility, let alone rectify the situation, shows a disregard for guest well-being and comfort that is simply intolerable.
I strongly advise anyone considering a stay at this hotel to think twice. The premium prices certainly do not guarantee a premium experience, and it seems that the basic standards of cleanliness and customer service are sorely lacking at...
Read moreNeeded a room for a Wednesday night for my family and I. After several emails and phone calls I finally was allowed to use my free night certificate. It was the only cat 5 hotel near SFO. I’m a lifetime platinum member as well as an Ambassador for Marriott. That certainly didn’t help. First, I receive an email that states there are no 2 bed bedrooms available for that night. After reading it, I check app and show 3 different types of two bedrooms available. I reply with an image of what I showed. I then recevied an email stating it was that the hotel was simply not allowing any more certificates for those room types. This was all very frustrating. You have perks that Marriott hotels make very difficult to use. I tried platinum service desk, amabassador contact, and eventually corporate sales contacts and finally started searching Hilton’s. I then decide-dead to simply call the general number for Marriott. This rep was able to simply book the room and that was that. The ambassador program is not known by hotels, Marriott doesn’t even supply an ID to identify nor does the system identify this, what’s the point? If there’s zero recognition, there’s no point. If you don’t see that, you’re out of touch with your client base. I strongly suggest to poll your ambassadors and ask if they feel recognized at hotels? On the forums I read, not so much. The contacts assigned to ambassadors have great reputations and mine is awesome. The issue is the hotels not having any idea what that means. You’ve got to learn to reward your loyal better. They are the advocates for your locations. I get asked all the time, which rewards...
