Update: I’m usually a reluctant Costco-goer — you know the type. Dreading the crowds, dodging oversized carts like it’s a real-life game of Frogger, and wondering why I came for "just a few things" and left with a lifetime supply of trail mix.
But today? Almost MAGIC!
Shoutout to Spencer and the entire crew working the Foster City Costco parking lot. These folks were so helpful, so cheerful, and just full of good energy. It was like being greeted by a pit crew at Disneyland. I didn’t even mind the usual Costco chaos — they had everything running like a well-oiled machine.
I pulled in stressed, frazzled, and barely holding it together because my kids needed stuff (and we all know when kids need stuff, they need it yesterday). But thanks to Spencer and company, I left smiling, organized, and maybe even...enjoying myself?? (Don’t tell my family — I have a reputation to uphold.)
Long story short: I walked in a Costco Grinch and walked out a Costco somewhat believer. 🎉 Thank you to the parking lot crew — today, you were the real MVPs.
--'xxx really could be in the best mood ever but when I arrive here I dread not only the parking but the customer service. To be clear:if you buy a gift for someone , from Costco, they will need your receipt, address, phone number and membership number to return/exchange it. Or, Costco will tell the recipient of the gift to "simply"give it back to who bought it for them. Now THATS a stellar return policy! Something everybody WANTS to do with the gift they rec'd, right? (But quite frankly, I personally didn't want to flat out tell my mom I hated the gift she got me, like they advised me to do pretty much).
I think Veronica (mgr of cust service) just said it all. And so very appropriate, right?
So be warned, all you good-hearted gift givers! Someone too polite that you intended to "give" to, got just that: the gift of more stuff to pay to throw away, guiltfully.
Just doesn't...
Read moreI really haven’t had a bad experience at Costco until today. For the last few years, everything has been fine.
Today, I went to Costco with my husband’s membership card. We share a family membership, and I also have my own card as well. I just couldn’t find at the moment. It was really busy, probably because of the weekend. My husband was parking the car, and I went inside first.
At the entrance, a short lady was checking cards. When I swiped my husband’s card, she said, This isn’t you you can’t enter.I explained that my husband was parking the car and he is here. I didn’t want to waste time. But she gave me an eye roll and a lot of attitude.
So, I went to customer service to explain the situation. The door lady was talking to a man who looked like a security guard. He has vest like superior something. He came up to me and asked, do you need help? I explained what was going on, but he said, It’s our policy you can’t cross this door. I can wait with you for your husband.
I told him i don’t need your help. I can wait by myself..The customer service staff didn’t help either. They didn’t even check my account, my ID, or anything, they just looked at me like I had done something wrong. It felt terrible.
It really wasn’t a big deal to wait for my husband, but the way they treated me was awful. I called my husband ,he was still looking for parking, and that same man kept following me, asking can I help you? give me your respect. You can’t go inside, do you need help.
I kept wondering, how could he help me if no one even checked my membership or ID on the computer at customer service area. He just kept saying he could wait with me. It was honestly creepy,he followed me the whole time.
When my husband finally came, he met that same man, but the guy still didn’t check his ID or membership card. I went straight to the staff office to talk with...
Read moreI was really pleasantly surprised just how nice everyone was here. It was about 11:00 am, easy to get in and park! unbelievable!!! Our trip was due to needing to maie a stop by customer service to get a card made with my sons picture. A sweet woman was on the outside of customer service, she seemed like she may have been a mgr. No real line, but lots going on in and around the store exit. She directed us to a CS rep. Manny I believe. Very accommodating. My adult son is Autistic, and I have always had him do things and navigate thru our world and tasks that need to be taken care of. Manny(I hope I remembered correctly) was so nice and addressed my son by his name, making small talk. My son needed to show his updated ID to get his Costco picture card. After getting my sons ID and entering his info, He directed my son over to the area to get his picture taken and just made him feel comfortable with the process. When we finished, we decided to go inside and take a look around at this location. We normally go to ssf location, closer to our house but we were there recently and the machine was not working we were told. Upon reentering the store, the woman that initially greeted us over by customer service was doing some straightening on a display. She asked us if we got his picture taken. She was that spot on with customer service. Great job to all that we came in contact with today....even grabbing a hot dog and coke and slice of pizza. Everyone was so nice and wanting to make our experience a good one and did that indeed!!! Great location, friendly staff, organized and barely a line...
