My dad has had some health issues and has started a gluten free, low sugar diet. This was the only place around that wasnât fast food, and we had been wanting to check it out so it worked out perfectly. When we got there it was busy, but the waitress was very prompt to get our drink orders. My mom got a Diet Pepsi but the server brought a regular, not a super big deal especially because it was busy and the server wasnât the same girl who took our order, she also seemed younger and new so no biggie there, it happens. Then our food took a while because they said there was a backup in the kitchen, whatever, it happens. Then my boyfriend and I both got the steak (medium) and eggs (over easy). His steak was cooked through but mine wasnât. Mine was still pretty pink when I first cut into it, not a big deal to me because I tend to like mine a little pinker but I always get medium at restaurants. The steak was very good and tender, my only complaint is that they went a little heavy (for my standards) on the course black pepper and I had to scrape it off because it was all I could taste. Upon cutting deeper into my steak, it was purple and raw. We sent it back with no issues, and the cook even gave me some more hashbrowns (which were good). When it came back it was a good medium and still tender even though it was cooked more. Iâm not too pressed about the steak because the kitchen was backed up and they were probably rushing to get it sent out, and they were very good about fixing it for me. My eggs were just a tad too runny even though I got them over easy, but it wasnât a big deal to me because I like them that way. Some people would be put off by this though so itâs something for the cooks to work on. After my dinner, I ordered a cinnamon roll for desert and it was SCRUMPTIOUS. I was afraid it would be dry in the middle because it had heavy frosting on top, but it was very gooey and sticky and honestly way better than I was expecting. Itâs fairly safe to say it was the best cinnamon roll Iâve ever had, which is saying something because I love cinnamon rolls and theyâre my go-to order. Also, the lemonade is to die for. We were also pleased that there was a nice selection of big entree salads that my dad could choose from. If you get coffee, there is only French vanilla creamer on the table and you have to ask for anything else. I think there should be half and half and French vanilla or the option to have milk brought out with your coffee. The only piece of constructive criticism we have for the wait staff is to speak up, and never go empty handed. Our plates didnât get taken, and when we did get refills the empty cups were left on the table. It got very cluttered very fast. The atmosphere is nice, and the people are friendly and cheerful. For being a fairly new restaurant with mostly young waitstaff, they still have a lot of things to perfect but Iâd eat...
Read moreWe were seated at 6:24pm. We waited with menus for over a half hour. No drink order was taken. No one stopped to apologize or say someone will be with us soon. A couple was seated several minutes after we were. Their drink order was taken, and arrived. Then another waitress came out a few minutes after to take their order to find it had already been taken. Meaning they had been seated for about 10 minutes before she came out to introduce herself, and she went back to scold the other waitress for serving her table. The guy that was there before we came in, beside us never got his side salad, and asked for it. He then received two salads in that half hour, because their waitress forgot and didn't know another had brought one out. The first couple was getting served their salads at 6:58 when another couple was seated. Within the minute, a waitress came out and took their drink order. Still had no one come to our table. We got up to leave, handed the waitress our menus and said that that couple had just been seated and we've waited over a half hour with no service. And her response was "okay, that's nice." Then went back and complained to the manager about us leaving, which we could hear. After telling the manager how long we had waited, was passed by and no one waited on us for over a half hour, but watched two tables get seated and waited on in that time, and that we're not unreasonable people, but that's just inexcusable, her response was simply "sorry" and let us walk out the door. We didn't yell or cause a scene, but yet were treated like our business wasn't needed. We...
Read moreWell this is my 3rd review in the town of Bradford PA and so far we have not had good experiences with recommended places to eat.
To drive up to Mama Jane's it had a warm and welcoming feel to it. We were the 1st ones to arrive a little after 7am. You walk in and it feels large and pleasant. We were very hungry my husband and I and we couldn't wait to dig in.
Our sweet waitress was awesome but I did not get her name. She mentioned the breakfast bar at $18.99 each which we thought was extremely high priced for such a tiny bar.
We piled our plates high and omg it was disqusting! My husband said the eggs tasted fake like rubber, the very small medallion sized pancakes were burnt on both sides, the potatoes were non-chewable and the biscuits were hard as rocks even with the gravy on them! The coffee had a strange wheat taste. I took maybe 2 bites and pushed the plate aside. My stomach started cramping for the rest of the day.
Our sweet waitress had taken my $18.99 off when she asked me how was it. I told her not good at all.
So we left...
