My boyfriend took me here on a Saturday. He visited this restaurant quite frequently, and vouched for it. I was all down for Japanese food so I jumped right in.
The restaurant is definitely convenient. It's placed inside of a shopping plaza so that means there is very accessible parking within distance. We were promptly seated, and there was a quaint, personal aura about the place. Everyone there seemed to really enjoy their job, which always makes for a more pleasant experience. We were seated at the bar, right in front of the entrance, and although the place isn't the biggest, that simply means that more attention will be given to you when you walk in, because the servers and chefs can attend to you faster. When you order, you fill out this slip where you place the specifics of your order. If you do not know how, simply ask the nearest waitress who will be more than happy to help you.
In regards to the wait time, there was hardly any wait. The food was cooked fresh to order and we received our meals within a reasonable amount of time. I ordered a combination that includes ramen, a side dish, and a drink, and my boyfriend ordered a ramen and a drink. There was enough portions on mine that we could split everything except for the ramen and drink of course. It fed us both pretty well and I even took some home. The food was delectable and light. Not to heavy on the stomach, was flavorful, hot (when it was supposed to be) and messed very well. My boyfriend likes a lot of toppings in his ramen while I prefer to have the minimum and with their menu and specifications we could both enjoy our experience. The noodles were nice and firm and the broth was mouth-watering, delectable, and not too heavy or thick. I finished my noodles really fast and the chef was kind enough to give me more noodles without a charge. That's something that not a lot of places can boast and was very generous.
They even have this sweet plum wine that I took my hand at trying. When I asked a waitress about it, she promptly pulled out the bottle and gave me the name. The wine was absolutely delicious.
Time for the check. I was expecting to pay a lot for the amount of food I received but the prices were pleasantly reasonable. This place is amazing not only for it's location and accomodations, however for it's friendly atmosphere, professional yet laid-back demeanor, amazing staff and absolutely delicious food. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone that wants to enjoy the act of eating, and seeks flavorful food.
This may have been my first time trying this place out, but it certainly will not be the last. Thank you,...

Happy Hour Mon-Tues 6pm - 10pm All meat skewers only $1.50
Not to be confused with Shin Sen Gumi Hakata Ramen on the left, Shin Sen Gumi Robata & Yakitori offers various food skewers cooked right in front of you over coal.
A fresh salad greets diners once seated.
Grab a slip, check off what you want & prepare to anxiously await your selections to be seasoned & grilled.
My stomach almost couldn't take the anticipation of chowing down on an assortment of meat including chicken skin, quail eggs wrapped in bacon, beef tongue, pork belly & liver.
Our favorite skewers of the night were, hands down, the beef flap meat. Tender, juicy, succulent cuts of beef flap meat that melted in our mouths. Cooked to perfection. These were so flavorful, I wouldn't mind coming back for Happy Hour & having solely these. The other cuts of meat were also tasty, albeit some being a tad salty.
Pro Tip - Everyone in your party must be present to be seated
Service was good. Our waters were refilled regularly with our plates being cleared w/o even asking. Seating is comprised of tables, tatami (floor seating) & at the bar. I like being close to my food, so I recommend sitting at the bar.
Parking is in a private lot anchored by Ralph's Grocery. It is loud in here, with the traditional Japanese custom of employees shouting to those that arrive "Irashaimase!!!", along with thanking them as they leave. However, we were able to hold conversation, despite that ;p Definitely not some place to go for a quiet dinner.
I highly recommend Shin Sen Gumi Robata & Yakitori on Mon-Tues nights for their Happy Hour. $1.50 meat skewers are why I'm giving them 5 stars! Inexpensive, it's a great way to sample all the meat skewers w/o breaking the bank. You must avail yourself of the beef flap meat & see why I vote it the...
Read moreThis was my first time here and I was pleasantly surprised. It was some of the best ramen that l've had in a while! I came with my boyfriend and friends on a Friday night and we were seated within 15 minutes. The restaurant itself is very small. There are 2 person tables, two 4-person tables, and bar seating available. The service is fantastic and super quick. Lexi was amazing last night and took great care of us. The food was delicious!! There's plenty of parking available in the lot. Food review: Ramen: (5/5) (1 was too excited and forgot to take a pic of the ramen lol). Literally some of the best broth l've ever tasted. The spicy miso is so flavorful but not too spicy. I ordered a flavored egg and extra pork as well. Sapporo: (5/5) Their draft beer was so good! They have a mega size, which was also the perfect amount to share! Spam Musubi; (4/5) It was decent. Great sharing size, but wouldn't order again. The rice was pretty hard. Gyoza: (4.5/5) These were surprisingly tasty! They were a little burnt, but still yummy. You get...
