Winchell's Donut House — Restaurant in Fountain Valley

Hands down, I think Winchell’s is the best donut shop in this area. Not gonna lie, but their donut holes rock. The dough inside is thick, soft and crunchy on the outside; thus the perfect combination. It’s not stale like other local donuts I’ve tried. The sweetness is on point. It’s not too sweet, and it’s not too plain. The Donuttery and Krispy Kreme can’t even compare to this.

What I ordered in the picture is a chocolate glazed and a banana milkshake. Normally I’d get strawberry, but since they didn’t have it yesterday, I wanted to try something new. I was a bit disappointed because it didn’t taste as good as I expected. The consistency is good though. It tasted more like a plain vanilla mixed with some milkshake base, but it’d be good for diet.

What an absolutely wonderful experience from the minute I stepped in. Bustling and slinging donuts all while responsibly socially distancing. The staff were friendly, bright and welcoming. The patrons eager for donuts so everyone was in a good mood. The display case was filled to the brim with festive, colorful donuts, fresh croissants, long John's, bismarks, cinnamon rolls, and myriad delectable pastries. Its a hit and miss!. I give it those stars, because their products are good. You have some people that provide great customer service "no problem!" Others act like your bothering them! Theres times I've walked in, and stood there for a good few min., said, "Hello" had to bang their counter to get their attention. Few min later, they come out mad! Why?? Other times, ive just walked out. I'd rather go 10min the other way, than deal w/poor service/attitudes! The freway is just right there!Too! Can't name-names, because they dont wear name tags.
