I was extremely displeased with the service and experience. The food was PHENOMENAL however hibachi is also about the EXPERIENCE! I had reservations and was seated immediately and served waters, Saki and the soup & salad at an impressive speed. However clean up seemed to come fast as I hadn’t touched my salad yet when they asked if I wanted the bowl taken away. I agreed as usually that means that the hibachi is following closely behind… to my daughter, my friend with us and two other parties dismay it then took over one hr to not only get a hibachi chef over there but this was not communicated at any point that it would take this long (aside from a couple I’m sorry comments). The lack of communication was happening because not one person came by within that hr to offer anything else to drink. My friend had to leave the hibachi table to go to the bar and pay cash for a beer! This did not prompt anything from the rest of the staff and the way we were seated with our back to them (and a wall in the way) there was no way to get attention aside from physically getting up OR if they came and checked on us. Another party complained and so as the hibachi chef set up they brought a complimentary appetizer (which my daughter ate to her self because she was starving)…. When we walked in the chefs around us (specifically right across from us) were interacting with the entire table getting the kids engaged etc… by the time we got to our turn we got only 1/2 of the experience by far! No engagement at all with my daughter (when he was throwing veggies in people’s mouths she was taking a bite of a wonton and so he just skipped her did a quick throwing of veggies to everyone else, lit a couple fires and done) when we all literally saw a completely different and more enjoyable experience an hr prior to this!!!! I literally had our food boxes and left because at this point the experience was something no one wanted to do anymore. For just under 100$ for three people.. there is not one part of this experience that I find positive are even NEAR worth the price (my birthday dessert was beautiful but again served after they already had me paying the bill with my food in boxes but nonetheless cute and appreciated… and the food is really good). It’s ok to be short staffed and have an off night but this was hardly the case… there were plenty of people that could have assured a different experience! Big no for sure from me for ever returning… not recommended.
Wow then I read some other comments and didn’t even notice added gratuity which is obviously my fault but just absolutely appalled… management response lacks any actual sincere apology because obviously the reviews are not helping for even a slight positive change…. Being short staffed is no excuse for any of this… especially when u are the ones making...
Read moreI want to be clear that this is usually one of our favorite places to eat. Last night might’ve been an off night, but it was very off. We chose your restaurant to celebrate our anniversary, and our waiter was spectacular! He was the only waiter in the entire room and he was running like crazy, but never stopped smiling or being attentive. I wish I would’ve remembered his name, but he had a long ponytail and beard. He was fantastic. We sat down on the table side rather than on the hibachi side. To start I ordered a beer that was on special for the night. I didn’t bother vocalizing it because I felt like we had to complain too much anyway, but the beer was very flat. I would not order it again because it feels like something was wrong with the tap. We ordered both sushi and hibachi and I told him that I was a vegetarian so we did a few tweaks to the vegetarian sushi rolls to make sure there was no eel sauce and things like that. Nothing major. The food came out and the portions were enormous. It was actually a very pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, my sushi was covered in roe. This is something not suitable for most vegetarians. I asked the waiter if it was my mistake and I should’ve vocalized this, and he said no those rolls are not supposed to have it on them because they are vegetarian, and he offered to have them remade. But this told me that the sushi chefs were not keeping a clean Station, so I just told him to take them off the check. He did and he was very gracious about it. I hated wasting the food, but I didn’t want to try again either. The other person in my group went to the restrooms and instantly turned around and left. The bathrooms were so filthy. They didn’t even want to be in there and decided to wait until we got home. Additionally, somebody who was originally working at the front desk, but was apparently assisting with busing came around to our table. She picked up the other person‘s dirty fork out of a bowl off the side of the table And placed it on my plate. It was not my fork, but she put it on my dinner plate that I was still eating off of. Overall, I was disappointed in the restaurant because we have gone here before and have always liked it and chose it for our celebration. Now we will question if we will return. But I do want to tell you if you do go there the wait staff is amazing, just be aware of your food.
Edit: well, I appreciate the restaurant getting back to me, things changed since I wrote this review. We will certainly not be back. We wound up in the emergency room with food poisoning. The anniversary will definitely be memorable, but not for all the right reasons. And now not only do I have a dinner bill for a subpar dinner, I will have large hospital bills to remember this night. In addition to that, the days of being sick or...
Read moreWe have been to this location before and had a very pleasant experience. This evening, we had an out-of-town guest and were celebrating a birthday and the experience was horrible. First off, we asked for a reservation for 6 people at 6 - when we arrived, we were told we had to wait and that they had us down for 10. No biggie, just headed to the bar. We ordered some happy hour drinks and food at the bar and indicated we would pay there but that we wanted to enjoy the apps at the table. We were moved to the table but after 20 minutes, no apps. We mentioned this to the server and he says they are waiting for us and did we want them - um, yes. He brings them 10 minutes later. We received no refills of drinks over the entire service of one hour and fifteen minutes. We didn't have soy sauce so grabbed it from another table but the lid was not on correctly so we ended up spilling a bit - no biggie - we cleaned it up ourselves but the server never came to clear empties or take away the napkins. The hibachi guy could not see to cook because the lights in the dining room were off so he did his best - less entertaining but at least the food was good. Anything coming from the kitchen arrived late (for example, salad and soup arrived after most of dinner had been cooked and rice appeared after we had eaten most of dinner). All somewhat forgivable until it takes 36 minutes to get the bill (after requesting it three times) and then it contains food we never received (we also requested three times). We immediately request the manager, who takes another 10 minutes to come out and then only removes items that were not delivered and brings out a scoop of ice cream for the birthday they have yet to acknowledge in any positive way (even just a "Happy Birthday" would have been fine). So $200 for a meal where we did not get some of the food, some arrived late, no refills, no apology whatsoever from the server or management, and no attempt to remedy. Not only that, but they held the other three people at our table hostage for their bill as well and would not deliver a to go box and botched their order (guy with two little kids who ordered two adult meals and waited the same amount of time to receive his bill and did not have it paid still when we left). We have been servers for many years at many establishments (private and corporate) and NEVER seen anything like this. We will not be going back and urge you to take your...
