First time at this location last night. Mostly good with some misses. Our waitress was the bartender even though we were sitting in the dining room. She tried hard and was friendly, but it's hard to take care of a table and make all the drinks for the rest of the restaurant. There were times we needed things but she was busy making cocktails. I dont blame her for this.
As for the meal, the cocktails we ordered was top notch. Would highly recommend. Ordered calamari for an app. It came out less than 2 min later and was not even room temp. It was cold. It had clearly been sitting in the back and they just brought it out. Asked for a retry and the next one came out hot and fresh. The other disappointing part were that the rings were so small you couldn't really tell what you were eating. Mostly tated the breading.
Order the mango tango sushi was and it was fantastic. SF always does sushi well.
As for entrees wife order Lucky Platter and it was pretty good. A little bland but still worth eating. Other guest order shrimp and sausage mac and cheese and that was very good as well. I ordered the Nashville chicken. Sides were very good, but I was confused by the chicken. It was just 2 fried chicken cutlets. No sauce or anything. I honestly thought they made a mistake, but the waitress said no, that's the way it comes. Also no pickles, which is pretty standard for Nashville hot chicken. All I can think is they don't really know what that dish is. I just know not to order that again.
I've eaten at the Littleton location multiple times and every time it was fantastic. That location has been around longer and they just seemed to be more on it. Overall it was pretty good, but I think I'll just stick to my usual Smokin Fins...
Read moreMy husband made a reservation a week before dinner, specifically mentioning that we needed a high chair for our young children. However, upon arrival, we were seated in a booth with excessively high couches that were extremely difficult for my 1-year-old and 5-year-old to sit in; they had to climb up and down, which was very dangerous. Additionally, we were required to share the table with a young couple. When I questioned why we couldn’t be seated at a regular table, despite there being at least 7 or 8 tables available, the server insisted we had to sit there. They provided us with a slightly higher high chair, but it was still too low for my one-year-old to reach the table. In an attempt to help my kids eat, I requested two stools, but they were not secure and led to dangerous accidents during our meal.
My one-year-old slipped from the stool, hitting her head on the ground, and my 5-year-old also fell heavily when climbing down from their high perch.
I was very frustrated. When I addressed my concerns with the manager, his response was dismissive and unsympathetic, stating they had never received complaints about the high seats before and that they provided those high chairs so kids could sit there.
It was a frustrating and disappointing experience, especially since we made the reservation a week ago and were still placed at their high table despite being the only people with young children at that time. All I was asking was why, when regular tables were available, were little children still being placed there? I simply wanted to convey to the manager that putting little kids there is dangerous, and I didn’t expect him to respond with such an attitude, telling me it’s not...
Read moreHaving just moved to CO two months ago, and having finally secured a babysitter, tonight was my first kid free night out with my husband in almost 3 months. Eager to make sure we had somewhere to go tonight to take advantage of our rare freedom, I called Smokin’ Fins at 10:45 AM to ask if they would take a reservation for that night. The gentleman that answered my call introduced himself as Benjamin, didn’t tell me his role but was more than insistent on taking my information down, with the intention of doing everything he could to secure us a table later that evening. I did inform Benjamin that we would be celebrating my husband’s birthday, and while we had no expectation of a reservation, I simply requested a piece of cake be sent out at the end of the meal in the spirit of the occasion. Fast forward to this evening; we were seated, waited upon by Sophia who was fantastic, had some amazing food and were content by the fire. Our sever then brought us out two enormous desserts and told us they were compliments of Benjamin. We were told that the sweets we were served were off menu items, prepared by Benjamin himself that day, special for us. Never have we ever felt so special visiting an establishment; we have never felt so indulged as we were tonight at Smokin’ Fins. Words cannot express our gratitude or satisfaction with the food, the accommodations, the service, the hospitality - everything was above and beyond and we are floored by the efforts made by the Smokin’ Fins staff...
