I’ve been coming to this library every week for the past few months. The study rooms are never available as they have large groups of people mainly kids just playing around in them. The staff have never been kind to me. If you come to this library expect to feel judged and to feel like everyone is glaring at you as if you are scum. As someone with a chronic illness I have come in here with makeup and without and regardless of how I appear despite not wearing sweatpants ever in public or today wearing a 400 plus dollar outfit I am treated poorly. Libraries are supposed to be safe places for all people, and I don’t feel that here whatsoever. This is not a personal opinion either, the fact that if I don’t bring my kids with me since I need to study I don’t get acknowledged or a blatant greeting and others do is a total disregard for me and anyone who appears different. It’s really a shame because someone could be going through cancer and they would still get mistreated here.. The selections are not that good either, although it is a large library the selections are mainly for fiction and nonfiction, not specific genres and hardly any educational books. Of all the Douglas county libraries and all the libraries I go to on a daily basis this one doesn’t feel welcoming. The bathrooms are dirty, the layout unorganized, they allow kids to sit around and chat in what would be quiet places, and overall you get a huge sense of entitlement. And the other reviews about this place being a daycare is very true, I can hear kids screaming and yelling at all points of the library.. the library also hasn’t adopted that every person should be able to print up to a certain amount for free like Denver, front range libraries, Aurora libraries...
Read moreI walked into the library not expecting much, but the book I was going there for.
I just moved into the area and had no idea where to go and as if God sent my guardian angel into the flesh came along Donna! She showed me how the whole library functions; Walking with me to each section and explaining the new technology they implemented here, but the best part was when she showed me the learning courses that they offer!!
My mind was blown - She has completely made my whole month.
I would also like to mention Nicole who showed me the new book section!
I've read some reviews complaining about the noise from children and I can confirm this is a more social library, but how I see it is everyone here is just happy; The children are happy to be there, the parents are happy to be there, and it seems the staff enjoys their job which says a lot about an establishment.
I am proud to call this my...
Read moreThe staff is very nice and have a smile on there face all the time. Tonight we went to the fairytale ball... The staff were overwhelmed with checking in. Last year we checked in by telling the staff behind the tables our last name and how many we have attending and it went beautifully. This year that wasnt the case I walked up with my kids said i was checking in the woman behind the table rudely said "were nit ready and the ball doesn't start till 6".. I started to walk away and a staff member dressed up with a black shirt, pink skirt short Burnett bangs and a flower head band was really rude as well said "were not ready yet and we'll let you know when you can check in" used hand signals to shoo me away. Wow very upsetting ... After leaving back to stand in line, there were 10 families waiting at the same table to check...
