Prime Time Bar And Grill — Restaurant in Fox Crossing

So my gf and I went in to this wonderful establishment on a cold wintry night in the beginning of a snow storm. We stayed for a couple drinks while patrons were exiting out the door, I'm assuming was from my horrible selection of tunes. Soon the remaining souls in the bar were the owner and us.

We decided to leave.

When returning home I realized I forgot cellphone at the bar. We called the bar numerous times with no avail. Drove back there to discover owner was still there , however doors locked.

Called several times. I said to gf "How can we got his attention to answer?" "We play a touch tunes song that will give him a clue!" she said. We thought of songs that would have telephone hints in the lyrics. "Sugar Ray's Answer the Phone!" I exclaimed. To the app we play the song while calling bar.

An answer!!

Laughing "Ok something's up when I hear Answer the Phone from Sugar Ray" the owner jokingly said.

Great bar...

We have been here a couple times already in the last 3-4 months. Each time was busy but service was great. They come back to check 2-3 times during dinner so drink refills are there if you want them. Even the owner went around the room touching each table to check on service and food quality. How often do you see that anymore?! I got the deep-fried haddock (came with melted butter WITHOUT asking!) Very Good, lightly breaded and not overcooked. Wife got the perch and while the fillets are smaller you do get 3 butterflies I believe. Again, lightly breaded and very tasty. Our group of 4 all commented how good everything was. It's a bit loud in there because it's busy and because it's popular. We could still talk between us 4 fairly well, which is important to me. They told us how long the wait was going to be and there were right on the money. (40 minutes with a packed crowd) It reminded us of how good service used to be before Covid!!! Wow!

I heard the fish was great, but so was everything else on my plate. Hot flavorful fries…try all 3! Sweet potato fries with honey mustard, beer battered, or waffle fries. I never eat coleslaw or rye bread, but both of these were fresh and tasty!

Shared Walleye and haddock…both served hot, tender and juicy. I prefer real butter to dip the fish…but hey, can’t have it all.

Service was friendly, fun, personal and efficient. Atmosphere is eclectic, colorful and energetic. And not too loud for conversation.
