Chicken Grill Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Menasha

Don't spend your money at this place. This was my first and last time here. The food was average, and the meat was dry and had no flavor at all. When we got there, we had to ask to be seated because we were waiting and no one was hosting. Our server was nice at the beginning; however, after we ordered, she disappeared, and no one was taking care of our table. We had to ask for to-go boxes and stand up to request the bill.

When we got the bill, it was just a piece of paper with only numbers. We were charged for many items we didn't order. We only got two drinks and a Molcajete, so we asked the waiter who gave us the bill. He said that our server had left, and the reason we were charged for all those extra items was that we ordered a Molcajete, which the menu states is for two people. Our server never asked if we wanted anything extra, but she added a whole plate of beans, rice, and tortillas without asking. We asked her twice what the Molcajete came with, and she could have asked if we wanted anything extra, but she never did and just added it to our bill.

The menu at this place is not updated, and the prices are higher than advertised. They charged more for the drinks because their menu wasn't updated. Just so you know, this is ILLEGAL. Wisconsin law requires that customers be charged the advertised price on the menu. I'm so disappointed. I've been to different Mexican restaurants, and this is the first one I won't...

So I had heard the name "Chicken Palace" a lot. Had no idea until recently that it was an authentic Mexican restaurant! I honestly thought it was a fried chicken place.

I have been here a few times now so I think its finally time to review.

Food- The food is flavorful with lots of spices. All the meats have lots of flavor as well. I have had the tacos, enchiladas, fajitas. They are all amazing. I ate a lot of Mexican food in Texas which is mainly Tex-Mex down there and many dishes reminds me a lot of dishes I would get down there. It's the best Mexican food I have had in the area and to be honest I love the others as well but this one is just the best.

Drinks- Havent had too many drinks but the Horchata is some of the best Horchata I have had. They also have many fruit flavored waters that are just fruit and water and are delicious.

Service- Service is always amazing here. I have always gotten sat quickly. Order taken promptly. Food comes out quickly and the hot foods are always hot and the cold foods cold. Servers are always willing to recommend a dish. Servers check on you regularly and make sure drinks are filled.

Was great the first few times I went. Then they changed staff. First thing I noticed was the burritos had about half the meat as usual and the beef was disgusting. Nothing but fat and gristle. Thought they had a bad day, so tried again. Ordered tacos and whilst eating, I bit into a bone and cracked my tooth and had to go to the hospital. Went in and talked to the owner and he explained that he'd been gone opening another store and agreed that he didn't like the quality of beef but was arranging to get a different supply. My daughter asked to go back so when we did, I asked the cashier if it was the new meat. She didn't know, so to be safe I ordered a chicken burrito. No sooner than the second bite, I bit into a long sharp chicken bone. Looking at the burrito, I find more bones and BEEF fat and gristle. I returned the burrito (no refund), and ate beans and rice. My final attempt was the following week with the green tamales, which I REALLY thought were safe. Everyone in my house ended up with food poisoning. I never gave so many chances to any restaurant like I did this one, but real Mexican food is hard to find in this area. But never ever again. This is a very dangerous place. Avoid...
