General Manager Aaron Not the sharpest knife in the drawer. My wife, grandson and I ate dinner this evening at 8:00. Not another soul was in the restaurant other than a handful of people at the bar. Wait staff, server, and food was great. But we will never return. As a business owner I took advantage of a promotion DEEJAYs was having at Christmas. I purchased $1000 worth of $100 gift cards to distribute to clients, vendors etc. As per feedback the majority went with family and friends and used the cards, some spent to the tune of $200-$300. Do the math. As part of the promotion they gave you bonus $25 gift cards to be used through March 31st deadline. Realizing that the 31st was yesterday we went to eat. The restaurant was closed. So we went back today. I asked our waitress if I could apply the discount to the bill. She checked with Aaron and came back with a feeble excuse that the computer wouldn't let them do it. The card for God's sake was printed by hand and cut from card stock. Not a computer generated type promotion. I understand promotions and I understand deadlines. But C'mon Aaron old buddy. Think of the big picture and the business you just lost. I would have been happy if you would have even emerged from the kitchen and shown your face. How about this for example; "I can't honor that promotion but why don't you bring your employees back for a lunch one day and I'll throw some free appetizers". or anything to demonstrate your programmed to receive and satisfy. versus I don't know just plain stoic. I'll have to find another place for vendor lunches as well and I'll be certain to send the receipt next year from another restaurant when I buy gift cards. Forrest Gump would have been smarter. I simply can't do business with people who don't get the customer experience...
Read moreBeing a southern transplant in PA it's hard to find quality BBQ. This establishment opened in our area so we gave it a try! We ordered ribs and pulled pork; 3 of us. The meat was drenched in sauce. Literally soaked to death. I was able to wipe the sauce off of my ribs but nothing we could do about the pulled pork. My son and partner each took 1 bite; they actually love a lot of sauce normally unlike me but this amount of sauce was beyond reasonable. We took the food to-go. It sat in the fridge for 2 days before we tossed it in the trash. They bring bottles of sauce to the table if you'd like to add to your food but our meat was sauced to high heaven before we even had the chance. I'm not being dramatic either, it was terrible. Wish I took a picture because we are foodies and typically take pics of food lol! Some times you try restaurants and get the vibe that although your food wasn't ideal you'll give it another try. No, we definitely would not recommend nor plan to return. If you're going to place bottles of sauce on patrons tables, the food should arrive lightly sauced or reasonably sauced so folks can add to taste. Hate to leave unfavorable reviews but it was that bad! Our server was kind....she gets...
Read moreMy wife both each had the pulled pork sandwich with creamy Cole slaw and shared an onion loaf. Delicious. The onion rings were large and done just right. The horseradish sauce was tasty without being overpowering or too hot. The sandwiches garnished with a tasty pickle were very good too. We could not finish it all, so we took home 1/2 sandwich each, some onion rings and cole slaw. We first went to DJ's in their original Weitlryon location, then again after they moved to the 3 Springs Drive restaurant. We did not return for 22 years. I cannot give a reason, but we'll return much sooner. I recommend signing up for their rewards program. I dud that at the table and saved $10. Total bill was $34.07 & tip brought it to $44. Our waiter, Sadie, was very good and I hope we have next time. Next time we want to try the pork ribeye entree. Sadie highly...
