Persis Biryani & Indian Grill, Franklin Park — Restaurant in Franklin Township

We order regularly through this place (via Grubhub) but the other day we decided to dine in after they threw in some specials with the earlier delivery. One of the specials was “ unlimited dosa wednesday + soup of the day”.

We called before going in and were confirmed that special is available. When we went there the server ( only person attending the restaurant that day and answering phone) stated that the offer is yet to be rolled out. This obviously was not true as he was the same person who we spoke on phone. When we asked him about the conversation he went in the kitchen to confirm and came back stating it cannot be done and we can order from menu.

We would have stayed around and given them our business but the servers attitude was just very different as soon as we walked in with the special offer they advt about.

Now that’s a class switch and bait. The food is “ok” you get typical run of the mill spicy...

Tried weekend buffet today. First of all if you prefer North Indian and vegetarian this place is big disappointment. They charge 13.99 per buffet and you get very few choices for appetizer and veg curries you get 2 veg curry options vs 3 different dal ( tadka dal rasam and Sambhar which does not ma any sense) If you compare the price one get many options near by ) I would recommend owner to visit chutney marry , Rasoi restaurants to understand how balance buffet options should be. They need to add more options in curry, appetizer and dessert if they want to charge the same prize. Definitely not worth 13.99 plus tax If you love North Indian taste and vegetarian this place is not good option. Biryani is good. Service is good. Floor is very sleepary one need to be very careful while walking. Good...

So we ended up coming here as a back up option because spice rack was booked and the food here was just OK. Nothing special. The naan were basically chips I don’t understand why they were so crispy. The subzi was alright.. but the gobi 65 was pretty good.. not to mention they ran out of Paneer/chicken tikka masala which is just a big like what at an Indian restaurant.. also they need to update lighting in the women’s bathroom Becusse randomly the light shut off & After turning it on/off a couple times that’s when it came back on. I want to give it a 1/5 but I’m giving it a two because the server was really nice.. & he did accommodate 9 people but the restaurant was empty. Maybe I’d give it a go for lunch just never...
