I am writing to formally express my outrage and deep disappointment regarding a highly unprofessional and discriminatory experience my family and I endured at your establishment, Ruby Tuesday, on a recent visit. What transpired was unacceptable on every level—from lack of basic hospitality to what appeared to be clear racial bias and tolerance of harassment toward both patrons and staff. Upon entering the restaurant, no host was present to greet or acknowledge us. We stood there, visibly waiting, for at least one to two minutes without a word or glance from any staff. When the host finally emerged, he failed to greet us, speak to us, or offer any courtesy whatsoever. He simply led us to the nearest table and walked away, without even asking if the table was acceptable. Despite the immediate red flags, we remained because we were hungry. What followed was even more disturbing. A white male customer seated nearby openly commented about one of your employees, stating, “He doesn’t speak English well,” prompting laughter from nearby tables and the host himself. My family and I did not laugh—because it was not funny. It was harassment, plain and simple, directed at a hardworking employee who, in my experience, was courteous, professional, and competent. He served us well, and I understood him perfectly. When I brought this offensive behavior to the attention of one of your employees and asked to speak to a manager, I was told that the person I was speaking to was also a manager. I explained my concern about the harassment your employee endured and the uncomfortable environment that was created for us. Some time later, another manager—presumably the general manager—approached the white couple responsible for the offensive laughter - to ask if they were okay. He made no attempt to approach my family until I stared directly at him, forcing him to acknowledge me. It took nearly two minutes of eye contact before he said a word. I calmly explained the situation. Rather than offering an apology or expressing concern, he repeatedly said, “I’m going to look into it,” with escalating irritation in his voice and an increasingly hostile tone. His demeanor grew visibly agitated as I stood my ground and stated clearly that what occurred was harassment—and should never be tolerated in any business, especially not one serving the public. I told him directly: No customer or employee deserves to be humiliated or mocked while trying to do their job or enjoy a meal with their family. After the white couple left, my family and I also exited. As we walked out, I noticed the same manager engaged in a private conversation with the couple in their vehicle—giving them further attention while continuing to ignore us. I made multiple attempts to say, “Have a nice 4th of July” loud enough for anyone to hear. The manager refused to respond. He instead glared at me, and when I again wished him a good day, he turned his head away without saying a single word.Let me be perfectly clear: this type of discriminatory behavior has no place in any establishment operating in the United States. I am an American, born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and I am of proud Puerto Rican heritage. The behavior I witnessed and experienced at Ruby Tuesday would never be tolerated in New York City—or any city where dignity, equity, and respect are valued. What’s worse, the restaurant itself was in poor condition. The moment we walked in, we were overwhelmed by a foul odor, and the environment was generally unclean. We should have left immediately, and I regret that we didn’t. For the record, I am a college graduate currently pursuing my master’s degree and expect to complete my graduate program next summer. Shame on Ruby Tuesday. Shame on your management team. I strongly urge you to take a hard look at how your location is being run, and how your customers and staff particularly those from marginalized communities—are...
Read moreThe first time I went to this location was about 11 years ago and it was great. Unfortunately it has gone steadily down hill since then. Most recently my girlfriend and I went there for dinner on Friday night 8/24/18. Now first off they were not busy but had to wait for the hostess (who was very nice) to clean off a table next to the bar instead of the main dinning room cause I guess they didn't have enough staff. I ordered the hickory chicken and the waitress told me it's 2 breasts is that ok? Like it was going to be too much food. I said yes that's fine and ordered my sides, mashed potatoes and a caesar salad. My girlfriend wanted the salad bar. She was going to wait till I got my salad to go up so we would be eating together. 15 minutes or so later they come out with my food, the salad has yet to make an appearance. So not only did they screw that up but the chicken breasts are so small that my 8 year old nephew would have asked for 2nds, also my girlfriends water has been empty this entire time and it's the only thing she is drinking. It was not our waitress who dropped off the salad and took another 10 minutes to get her to come over to our table and since we were so conveniently placed near the bar and the kitchen we could see her yaking with her coworkers. None of the staff seemed to be in any hurry to help anyone. When I finally got her over she asked if I wanted the salad now. Halfway through the meal you're going to give me what should have showed up at least 10 minutes prior to the meal oh and by the way my girlfriends water glass is still empty. So at this point I'm not happy. I tell her I don't want the salad now or another side since I've got all of 3 bites left on this big meal I've ordered. I tell her I want the salad side taken off the bill, she says ok and finally gets a refill for my girlfriend. Pops back one more time about 10 minutes later and asks if we want anything else, I say no just the check. She drops it off and of course nothing has been done on the check regarding my dissatisfaction and the worst part is she doesn't say anything just walks away. We have to call her back and call her out on it and the response is "Oh yeah I talked to my manager about it and the sides are built in there is nothing he can do about it" Well first off you should have said something when you dropped off the check and not just hoped we would pay it and leave. So we call the manager over go through the whole thing and the waitresses defense for the bad service is oh I didn't drop off your meal. Who is running this place??? Now I will say the manage was nice and took my meal off the bill which is more than I was asking for, but he was running around all night dropping food off and clearing tables while the rest of the staff sauntered around. I will never eat there again and the waitress we had should be fired and never allowed in customer service again. I'm sure this place stays open only because it's attached to the hotel and has a captive client base built in. This is by far the worst dinning experience I've...
Read moreThis was the first time I've ever been to any Ruby tuesdays before and in all honesty I would definitely come back to this location. Sam was very attentive to our table and even went out of his way to explain to my children what it's like to be a server. My children have a project coming up soon and needed to get the opinion from a working person and Sam did not hesitate in answering what it's like to be a server which is great and very appreciated as he has to tend to his job which I saw he worked very hard at his tables. I was saddened by my first time being here as my daughters ear got cut on the sign that is in the lobby. She had been sitting in the lobby and when we were going to be seated she got up and the corner of the sign cut her ear. It's a metal type of sign of some sort so the corner was pretty sharp and I'm just baffled by it as that has never happened to any of my kids before. Sam recommended the dulce de Leche but unfortunately there wasn't any so I went with his second recommendation of the funnel cake and omg it was absolutely delicious. I would definitely come back and hopefully have Sam as the server again as I trusted every recommendation he made from drinks for my children the Ruby relaxer for myself which was delicious although I think it should be paired with a pineapple not an orange lol. I was unsure of what I should order for myself as I've never eaten at a Ruby's before but even the chicken and shrimp that Sam suggested was absolutely great but I will admit that it was even more delicious because of the lettuce and Italian dressing and corn that I couldn't help but keep getting from the salad bar like 3 times because it was just absolutely yum 😋 when I go back I will definitely get an order for the salad bar again. I also noticed that the salad bar was low when I first went but my second time it was full as they continued to check on it. So overall I'll give it a 5 stars because of the server and the salad bar. Also I discussed the situation with the manager after our server went to get him for us. Most servers don't like children and are very dismissive towards them but Sam wasn't and neither were other workers there I really appreciated the service Sam provided and you can tell he is a nice person and made my daughter feel not so bad about being hurt after he noticed she was not all that happy and kept holding her ear. The lady who provided the bandaid to me was very nice with my daughter and I appreciated her helping me as well. I attached a picture of the sign but won't be providing a picture of my daughter as I don't feel comfortable showing her online or even part of...
