On the eve of father’s day, my wife and I invited my father and mother- in law –for lunch over. After careful deliberation, we settled for 3 Restaurant in Franklin, its 12 minutes away from where we live now and moving here from Canton, MA. we used to eat at Sky Restaurant in Norwood ( a sister Restaurant from what I heard) quite frequently.
We decided to place a takeout order the night on Father’s day Eve to be picked up at 12:15pm. Five (5) minutes later, the system sent an alert stating that “ Your order has not yet approved, please call them about the status” which I did. The host said that the system is down and I will be contacted as needed. When no reached out I figured that everything was fine. I went there at 12:15 pm as scheduled and pulled in on the spot marked for curbside pick up and waited for another 15 minutes. No one showed up. I got out the car, and wen inside to find out more, this is where I met the Manager on duty (Michael) who was on his way to meet with me. He said that, I am sorry that your order won’t be ready until 2:30 pm and asked why? His explanation was that he doesn’t know why the system allows the order to go through for 12:15 pm pick up when it shouldn’t have been. He added that they don’t have the necessary ingredients available now, so 2:30pm is the best-projected time to get it ready.
Here why it’s matter: I called the day prior (see above statement), was told about the system issue. I got there waited; nobody showed up; 15 minute later called and was told that my order would be brought out as soon as it’s ready. I had to go in to be told a performance story. And why should I have to drive back another 12 minutes or 8 miles? The staffs don’t seem to care how they sound off from one phone call to the next. Only to be rebuffed entirely by the manager on duty. The whole conversation sounded like talking points, they have a excused and multiplied in fantastical ways, and a wish driven narrative. Needless, to say that I requested a refund and went on...
Read moreExcited to finally get a night out with my husband and no kids. Ambiance was fine, we had made a reservation. Had the chip and dip as an app to start. Chips were ok but the dip had zero flavor. We both ordered drinks. My first strawberry margarita was amazing. We ordered Chicken Milanese (husband subbed the green beans for asparagus) and the steak frites. The waitress came back to the table saying my steak came with frites and did I really want to sub to asparagus. We clarified the order and she realized she ordered us Chicken parm instead of chicken Milanese so she goes off to fix the order. Dinner comes and they bring us two chicken dishes and no steak. I’ve worked in restaurants so I’m like whatever just have my husband eat his while I wait for them to cook mine. It’s only a medium steak and some truffle fries how long can it take. Apparently a very long time as my husband was done with his meal when mine came. They did offer a salad but meh. The biggest problem was everything was bland and flavorless. His chicken Milanese looked amazing but it was boring and bland. My steak was just weird. Again bland and flavorless. They overcooked it to mostly done with barley any pink. And they put in in a bowl with the fries so the bottom fries were all soggy and stole the steak juice. But the top fries were trash and underdone too. They did offer us free dessert for the mistake but I didn’t eat much because that too was flavorless. I mean how do you mess up a brownie. Plus the ratio of one small scoop of ice cream and then a half a dish of whipped cream. I also ended up ordering a second strawberry margarita that came out totally different from my first one from the glass to the color to the taste. A truly poor experience from start to finish. For the love of god get...
Read moreLeft hungry and annoyed with server.
The outdoor patio / bar area has a great vibe on busy nights. Great place to lounge and enjoy drinks.
Not as great for eating a meal, as our legs were asleep after leaning forward to eat on the lounge furniture.
Started with buffalo cauliflower bites, which were really tasty.
Ordered a $35 plate of scallops with avocado corn salsa and the scallops came out barely warm, meaning they sat somewhere for a while.
The scallops and corn salsa were tasty but they didn't give me enough of either to fill me up.
I think that entree is begging for another side. Would have been good with some hot mashed potatoes or roasted asparagus or something like that.
Felt more like a $20 dish and not a $35 one.
Worst part of the experience is our server - who performed the most-basic level of service - handed us a credit card scanner and stood there and waited for me to enter the tip.
My choices were 22%, 20%,18%, and custom tip.
I thought our server earned no more than a 10% tip, but because she stood there, watching and waiting for me to enter a tip, I just tapped 18% to be done with the experience.
It was $135 total for my wife and I for one app, a couple of entrees, and a couple of 6-ounce glasses of wine.
MIGHT return to try indoor dining, but leaving the restaurant feeling overcharged, hungry, and agitated with the server will...
