Blue Cactus Tacos & Tequila Bar — Restaurant in Franklin

What can I say, it’s my favorite restaurant all time! Being coming at least 2x a month for awhile now with my family of 4.

My kids love the quesadilla and refried beans.

The supreme nachos are my go-to, they make a very large meal for one person or a good meal to split if you aren’t as ravenous. Includes chicken and steak, pico de Gallo, queso, black beans, jalapeños…. so perfect and dangerous if you’re trying to watch your calories!

We have tried a number of things from the burrito gigante to several of their street taco options and each time they are fantastic.

I eat gluten-free and it is so easy to eat here, just skip anything with a flour tortilla.

The chips and salsa are better than any Mexican restaurant I’ve been to in Franklin or elsewhere (and I love going to Mexican restaurants) - the salsa is perfectly spicy. My one complaint would be I always run out of water way faster than they can refill but I can’t help myself, the salsa is too good! My little one will even try to drink it straight from the cup.

They have regular specials and I’ve always found it incredibly filling and a fair price. That’s what keeps us coming back as a family and for date nights! Service is always timely...

This was our first time here and we were pleasantly surprised. The chips were crispy and fresh, and the salsa was a bit chunky with lots of fresh roasted tomato and pepper flavors and vibrant as well. The queso had a bit of a spicy kick to it that all of us enjoyed. My son ordered the Arroz Con Pollo off the kid's menu, and loved every bite. My wife couldn't stop raving about the Carne Azada specialty plate. Lots of delicious food with great flavors which is what my wife said. I ordered the Tacos de Flor de Calavaza, and they were delicious. Fresh squash blossoms in a taco with corn, tomatoes, avocados, queso fresco and molcajete sauce. Light and delicious meal. I topped it off with a side of Spicy fresh veggies and quinoa. Fresh zucchini, squash and onion perfectly cooked in a very spicy and flavorful tomato sauce. Wow. I couldn't stop eating those veggies because it was so delicious. Even with my mouth burning I enjoyed each and every bite. It is not for the faint of heart because of the spice level. We were greeted and waited on by friendly staff members, and look forward to...

Nice atmosphere and a great variety of different delicious tacos. Queso, guac, and salsa were all tasty. Quick service as well. Would have been 5 stars, but the margaritas were lacking unfortunately. They seemed to come out really fast, so didn’t think it was from the ice melting, but they tasted very watery for margaritas that were just made from muddled blackberries, mint, “squeezed fruit” (not sure what that entails specifically), and tequila. Maybe some of the other margaritas are better, or perhaps ours were just a couple bad ones, but both the Blackberry Mint and the Blood Orange margaritas had this issue. But from my experience tonight, those margaritas were far from the best I’ve had, so I’m reluctant to recommend it for a margarita spot right now. Maybe that’s something that was an isolated case or an issue that could be addressed.

That being said, I’d definitely recommend checking it out for the tacos! They were absolutely delicious, and I’ll for sure be coming back for more. Some of the best, if not the best tacos...
