DEAD FLY IN MY GREEN TEA - NO ACKNOWLEDGMENT, APOLOGIES OR DISCOUNT GIVEN. Changed review from 5 star to 1 star. I gave Tomo a go despite the rude lady. I ordered sushi, edamame and hot green tea, and tipped 20%. She brought the sushi w one set of chopsticks, even though I was there w my daughter. I asked her for another set, she said I could go get it myself. I still let that slide. She brought my green tea over and thank goodness I looked before I sipped. There was a fly in my tea! I took it back to her, she didn't apologize, dumped the tea and started brewing a fresh batch, she didn't even toss the cup. I was expected to drink out of the same cup. I told her I needed to go, she asked me wait for my tea. I finally broke and asked for a refund for my tea. In any other scenario - the restaurant would apologize and take the whole check off. Shame on Tomo. Never again will I go there and get treated like crap. I am disappointed in myself for standing up for myself but I was with a 6 yo and didn't want to stress my child out. SHAME ON TOMO.
Intial Review should no longer be considered but here it is for transparency - I ate lunch here for the first time a few weeks ago, ordered the signature Tomo Roll and... WOW!!! The tomo roll was an absolute delight, I will be going back even though I'm an...
Read moreI'm always happy to try out a new Japanese restaurant and Tomo is a pretty darn good one. The menu has the traditional items of Sushi (a few named after the new location), Hibachi entrees, sides and Sushi Burritos (I've not tried just yet). I took home the Chicken Hibachi (rice, mixed veggies and a choice of Clear Soup or House Salad) last night and it was really good and the portion size was enough for two people (even with my big appetite). Today, I ordered Shrimp Tempura Roll, Harumaki and Pork Gyoza. The Pork Gyoza was perfect and the Harumaki as well! I do have a few criticisms to point out for my score. The rice is just a little too overcooked for my liking, it shouldn't be too mushy and it's cutting close. Also, a soda fountain would certainly be more welcome than buying cans and bottles, especially dining in! In the end, the Hibachi entrees are your best buy for the money and getting a full belly! One more thing as a great suggestion for the menu: Bento Boxes are a great introduction for newbies wanting to sample...
Read moreFranklin newest Japanese restaurant... And likely its best! The value for the entrees, appetizers, sushi rolls, and Extras are not only inexpensive, but you get more food than you could eat in one sitting.
We ordered the chicken hibachi, a combo Hibachi with shrimp and scallop, the avocado salad, and with each entree you receive a soup or salad as well as fried rice. Please check my pictures to see our delicious entrees.
They do sell the sauces as well so no more going to The Big Box store to find any Ginger sauce, yum yum sauce, or anything like that... I'm only coming here from now on. The manager gave us some edamame to taste and it was probably the most delicious I've eaten anywhere. I highly recommend a visit to this restaurant... It may become your new favorite...
