My children & I were all treated rudely & to be technical my kids were profiled, accused, & discriminated against. My teens are 15-17 so they know how to & do behave in stores. I am not naive,I know that kids will be kids at times. But, the associate, TAMMY, at the Franklin location told my children that "they" had loss prevention following them(my children). My children are not disrespectful, they do not steal, damage,or vandalize any property. When I spoke to the associate whom my children informed me was rude to them when they PURCHASED almost $30 worth of items, she was also extremely rude to me & argumentative as well. I saw the associate(Tammy)watching all of us from across the store as I asked my children to show me where these supposed items they damaged were. Tammy's demeanor was that she seemed to think she was powerful to put loss prevention on 2 teens that were shopping while I shopped in store also. Tammy seemed to be upset that my teens picked up a magnifying glass&made funny faces at each other with it&also touched/squished a squishy ball toy that had already been opened&damaged prior, & not by us. When my teens purchased their 2 items they were asked if they also wanted to purchase all the items they damaged as well. They didn't damage any items&put the items where they were found. You don't accuse the people in the store at the end of the day for something that had already been opened & damaged prior. Did you have L.P. following the other people who originally opened&touched that squishy ball & all the other people who did so afterwards also? It doesn't necessarily make it right for others to touch already opened items, but it happens, it's a fact of retail. You are going to loose a customer that did nothing except shop the store & let their kids look & that touched products, all over the retail cost of a squishy ball which is probably retailed at appox. $7? Companies buy at cost which is much less&can write off damaged items & some loss(lost items under shelves, etc.) as well.Employees like Tammy should voice their concerns to their management if they have such an issue with the products their store carries. I was a retail store mgr for 15 yrs& worked with L.P. also.My children have been raised to be respectful in stores as employees have to fix all the things if customers don't put them back where they go. Having worked retail I am familiar with the junk squishy balls that kids open, handle, damage. Our corporation wrote them off, we didn't loose customers over items that cost the company pennies that could be written off as a loss. My children are not perfect nor am I, but they are still teens and there is some light heartedness there. Touching products, making funny faces in a magnifying glass they didn't purchase or browsing the store as I said they could while I shopped because they are teens & don't want to be in a craft store with their mom in the first place but we don't leave them home alone because we live rural & have to travel 45 minutes to an hour away to go anywhere, is not illegal. None of it is illegal or a reason to have loss prevention following teens around in a store PERIOD. From my experience, you put L.P. on people that exhibit signs of attempting theft, not teens touching a squishy ball or magnifying glass. This entire situation is totally absurd. My teens did not break, damage,or make an already damaged product worse or more damaged than it already was. I attempted to call the Franklin location store manager, but their phone line wasn't working;I tried calling multiple times. I called the Bloomington location&was told that it was very possible for the phone line at the Franklin location to be out. I'm not sure what was meant by that, if they regularly have issues with the phone at Franklin or what. While the associate on the phone was somewhat dismissive in hearing my full question, she cut me off, she apologized for my experience at the Franklin store&directed me to corporate where I left a voicemail. I hope Tammy is not a member of management, if so she needs demoted at...
Read moreTypical Hobby Lobby. I had never been to this one, so I ventured in to see what was on sale or if anything really grabbed my attention and in no time, bam! 40% off on all Artist Masters items. YES! I was broke, and I use lots of Metallic and Pearl paints in my art, so I grabbed a set of pearl paints for $10.99 and all excited, I headed to checkout. A lady was leaving, and another moved up to the counter, and I was next. Of course I have the get behind "a difficult customer" and I can't even remember now what her issue was, but a line began to form. I was starting to feel the cashiers and my own frustration when she quietly called for back up. Another lady came up and did something I was so impressed by. Instead of just opening a lane and letting people just move over if they wanted, she stepped up to me and asked me to come over to register 7 and she would take care of me. Yay! Then told the others as she was ringing me up that yes, she was open. My total came up to $11.76 or something close. I asked about the 40% and she said that the sale price doesn't apply to items with the yellow YOUR PRICE sticker on them. I think I felt like 5 emotions at once and she claimed it was in the fine print. I didn't wanna be one of those that would say never mind and then walk away, but I thought about it, I really wanted the paints, and i had the money, so I made my purchase and left. I vented my frustration on my TikTok and felt better. So Based on the issue alone I would give a rating of 3 stars, but since that is a corporate thing and not the stores fault,...
Read moreThis is a typical Hobby Lobby with 99% of everything you need for crafts and decorations. Great flower selection. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The sale flier is new every week, through Saturdays. They are closed on Sunday. There were no extra coupons for today's grand opening. You all probably know about the regular 40% off coupon you can get online. If you have registered your email you will occasionally get extra savings. Great fabric section. One thing that's irritating is the visible pricing for items. Several Great clearance sections and lots of signs of "40%off" or whatever the case may be, but its always frustrating to check an item and find no obvious $$, except items near the register s are marked with obvious tags and most of the clearance things too. I'm not saying nothing is priced but I did commonly felt like i was studying anatomy looking for a tag on the things I needed. Anyway, pics to show how busy it was today and variety of sections. A few to show what I mean about pricing. I'm still thankful we now have a Hobby Lobby...
