Fooood is fantastic! To the negitive reviews on "covid" I eat viks religiously and when I say religiously I mean virtually every single day of the work week wich for me is 5-6 days maybe 7 I also work at shap surrounded by thousands of people daily who also eat here. Not once have I gotten sick or contracted covid from them or anywhere els for that matter. The masks you wear overall do absolutely nothing to prevent cross contamination that said virus that has a 99.5% survival rate. So it's in line with the common flu and viral pneumonia that makes its rounds yearly. The same people that have to worry about covid are the same people that have to worry about the flu and pneumonia that makes its rounds yearly it is a virus at the end of the day you're not going to get away from it you're either going to get it naturally or unnaturally by taking a vaccination that isn't going to be 100% effective because the virus again has mutated like the flu and viral pneumonia does each year. Further more when getting a virus once you're over it you will not get that same strain of the virus again as your body will know how to defend against it before it becomes a problem this is also why people get vaccinations. Please stop pretending like it's the black plague it is not. It is a virus with a 99.5% survival rate if you want to live in constant fear and practice a victim hood mentality do so at your leasure want wear the new tin foil hat that is the medical mask go head and do so the rest of us have a life to live. I know for one that I have not gotten sick and or have likely already had covid quite a while ago (Jan of 2020 last time I was sick) and since then I have not gotten sick once. You are being severely mislead about the virus. If you've had it you are no longer at risk for what ever strain you had. If you've been vaccinated you're no longer at risk....
Read moreThe food has always been bland but good enough to eat with ranch and their ranch is really good.. until today.. I don't usually order out but when I do it's usually Vik's Diner once every 2 or 3 months.. They're only 1 mile away, very quick and have a good variety of different things.. But today i ordered a 21 piece shrimp dinner with fries, mozzarella cheese sticks, and fried mushrooms, & the dinner came with a soup & i always choose lemon rice with my dinners from Vik's.. Till today... Everything except the fried mushrooms was burnt and hard to chew.. The lemon rice soup was so bland i had to put about 10 drops of lemon juice + salt and pepper just so it would have some taste to it.. I tried a few pieces thinking maybe it's just a couple pieces that are burnt cuz that happens sometimes.. But no it was every single piece of shrimp and cheese stick burnt and hard to chew.. the mushrooms which i will post a picture to compare were perfect and unburnt and tasted great.. I hate complaining to one of my local restaurants but I called to see if maybe I can exchange the food for something else and was told no I can only get a refund and the cook was screaming in the background saying that i was lying and the oil was just changed and nothing was burnt when he put it in the box.. so because of the rude response from the cook i will not give them my business ever again.. In the picture you can see the 2 unburnt mushrooms on top are to compare to the other burnt food that tasted gross.. Half of the shrimp i couldn't even bite into cuz they were so hard plus they were so small and still had the tails on.. My uncle ended up calling King's and got the shrimp basket and the shrimp was twice as big with no tails for the same price.. And best of...
Read moreIn the world of "average diner food" - your expectations are never that high. You look for the bare minimum. When it comes to the food specifically, you just hope for a decent bite to eat for a reasonable cost. When it comes to customer service, attentiveness and a smile is plenty good enough.
When it comes to watching out for the welfare of your customers, I also expect the bare minimum. And during a pandemic, the bare minimum becomes more robust. I am very disappointed to see Vik's not doing the bare minimum during this time of severe viral outbreak. Masks should be worn by all employees, especially the cooks. At Vik's, masks are being worn by nobody at all.
COVID-19 can be spread by asymptomatic carriers. Your staff SEEMING healthy isn't good enough. Masks must be worn and can be readily purchased at a low cost.
Until ownership publicly vows to change their position on masks, I will not be returning to Vik's and I would advise others to do the same. There are PLENTY of other diners in the area serving food just as good who care more about their customers' health. They deserve your...
