Being new to the area I thought i found a great Saturday night hang out spot. Usually service is great during the day. The last time I went on a Friday night we were kicked out by a rude bartender. They close at 2am and at 120am we got kicked out. Lady with a cap is very rude. Its also very hard to get her attention as she mostly socializes and goes outside to smoke alot. This isnt our first time here and this is how it usually is. This night in particular She moved the tab towards another lady who was having a bad day (we know because we were talking to her) and told her she needed to pay and get out. It was 120am. When I asked her if they close at 2am she said "it closes when I say it closes". Mind you we don't get rowdy, or wild...we were pretty low key compared to other people so we don't get why she was being so rude. Businesses have the right to close when they want but they do not have to treat their customers like that especially in a bar/restaurant setting where people go after a long week to unwind. Needless to say I will not be going there anymore. Hopefully things change as she is the only one with an attitude the whole time she works. And kicks customers out. Not a fun interaction. Hire the personality not the skills, as skills can be taught but...
Read moreAdmittedly it's been a few weeks since I've been back. I'm not always in the area for lunch and can't always stop, but I enjoy it when I can.
I have frequented Belle's many times over the years. They are pretty reliable. Like any restaurant no food comes out perfect every time, but when it does it's just good food. When it does come out incorrectly, which is rare, the staff try to make it right. And I think the prices are pretty reasonable. Unlike other restaurants I've never debated what to get based on price or felt cheated seeing the plate once it arrives. The specials are pretty good and the rail drink prices were decent as well.
For atmosphere, it's pretty nice for a local bar/restaurant. I have stopped by with my family and with coworkers and both felt welcomed. They do have pool tables on the opposite side of the bar from the restaurant tables, so you can dine without being in a pool hall. Could it use some updating? Sure, but it IS NOT run down. And they keep the place pretty clean from what I could tell. And some prefer the more worn aesthetic.
It's good food, good service, good price. If you are in the area I...
Read moreI have never had issues until tonight. The manager (who told me she was the boss) confronted a patron about a tip. Very unprofessional and disappointing literally followed the person outside and told him off! I understand servers work off tips and I myself tend to tip well, however another in our party was not happy with the service or non existent service as he said. At the end of the night the manager came outside and confronted the patron about the small tip he left. That is not okay as you tip for how feel your service is, it is not mandatory and the crass of this manager was unbelievable! I will no longer support this establishment if this person is working period! Everyone who shows up you better tip 20% or more cause she may rip and embarrass you as well, just a heads up!! I mean even if feel you have bad service! I personally can attest to watching the server talk with friends and having to wait on her for drinks. I personally do not get bothered by this and will still tip bit to each their own. Just know you should never be confronted on this especially in front...
