October 11, 2024 . . . China Garden is well known in the Frederick area, since 1984 . . . Really good Chinese food 😃👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
The community rallied around the Chaing family ( owners ) when FIRE 🔥 torched their restaurant in 2019. Community Fundraising donated money toward the repairs, and China Garden re-opened in 2022.
It’s been over 15 years since our last visit, while returning from our cross country bus trip, we decided to stop in for dinner ! WOW the renovations are great! 😃👍🏼 Jessica our server “ caught us up to speed” on the restoration after the fire.
China Garden tends to cook up a mix of Szechuan, Hunan, and some Cantonese styles ( regional cuisines) of Chinese food. You can turn up or down the 🌶️🌶️🌶️ heat !
My wife loved her Sesame Chicken, very mild on spices, fresh & juicy . . . Perfect ! 😃👍🏼
My Grandson ordered the Beef Stick appetizer, in a mild bbq & Soy sauce combo. His entree Cashew Chicken was mild and delicious! 😃👍🏼
I ordered crispy egg rolls & hot & sour soup as my appetizer. . . . which was good. Then I ordered Combo Orange Shrimp & Orange Chicken with spicy sauce ! Rather mild, so I asked for a little bowl of extra Szechuan 🌶️ sauce to add ! Yum 😃👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Being across from Frederick High School, good place for the teens to work part time jobs, or hang with friends for appetizers! There used to be a bowling alley nearby, but I hear that’s out of business. Times are changing. This is a good...
Read moreReally disappointed after trying for the first time after they have reopened. Was excited to try, I remember how great china garden used to taste and was expecting a great meal. Unfortunately, it is nothing like I remember. Firstly, it is nice they offer local delivery - you don’t have to pay uber eats fee etc. They were quick, delivered within 40 minutes. But that is where the positives end. The food was extremely lackluster and bland. Ordered crispy beef, general tso chicken, and beef sticks. Crispy beef were tiny pieces of beef, the fry was so light it went mushy and it seemed like there almost were more carrots than beef. Sauce almost had no flavor other than cornstarch. General Tso chicken was extremely bland, again almost no taste. You don’t know if you’re even eating chicken. The beef sticks were completely overcooked and just smothered in a salty sauce. It literally was like eating beef jerky. The sauce is just poured on the top, so heavy, not tossed around. One of the sticks was missing half its meat… The pickles even aren’t like they were before. It’s lacking flavor, like they are using less chili or something. Portions are large but when you take into account you don’t want to eat it… it’s not worth it. We ended up throwing away more than half of it- it wasn’t worth it to eat such cheap quality. Would...
Read moreSo... Before tonight i would have easily given 5 stars but tonight was terrible. Ive ordered from here a few times and the food was ALWAYS on point, delicious, hot when it arrived and i love the care they put into packing it all up with all the extras they put in the bag for u. Tonight, the food was AWFUL. I ordered Shrimp Lo Mein for my daughter bc she LOVES her "chinese noodles" and that was the only good thing that we got. I also ordered Sweet and Sour Chicken with Fried Rice and the Beef Sticks as an appetizer. The food came quickly, almost too quickly; the Chicken was pretty much all fat and once it was all cut off there was barely any actual meat left and the beef stick honestly tasted like the sauce was old amd smelled god awful and the beef itself tasted rancid. The Sweet and Sour sauce tasted like straight canned pineapples, not like sweet and sour is supposed to taste and the fried rice left an odd aftertaste. Like i said ive ordered here a few times and its never been like this but tonight was so bad i dont even want to chance it again. So disappointed. I was so looking forward to this dinner tonight. So if u do order, do so with caution and i hope ur experience is much much better than...
