This park feels like it's straight out of a movie and one of my favorite things about Frederick...

If you listen closely when it's real quiet you might hear soft thuds, followed by a distinct "Yiiipppeee" or a loud "OH no what a meatball." This is the ghost of Lugi Taglemori who settled in Frederick in the early 1800s. Lugi loved bocce and would often play in the park. However Lugi's life ended tragically when the pallino he was using some how bounced back and became caught in his throat, causing him to choke.

It was said in his dying breath he cursed the bocce fields of Frederick.

Frederick city brought in a psychic and finally found out a way to put Lugi's soul to rest, which is why there is new Bocce courts being installed. Maybe ol Lugi might stick around. Maybe he will finally retire...Only...

Fantastic place to just come and hang out. If your are new in the frederick area and you want a serene quiet place to clear your head, this is the place for ya. You can also come here with your pet dogs 🐶 to walk. Exercising and running 🏃 on the park 🏞 is always fun. Great views from different angles and exceptional experience all around. There are also concerts and cinema 🎦 that happens at the park every so often. So far every event that I've attended has been free. Unknown if there are any that you have to pay for. Good to have this in the city of frederick and the surrounding areas. Give it a thumbs up if you liked the review or if it helped ya make a decision. Enjoy your day...

You need to check out "Music in the Park" every Sunday night from June thru August starting at 7:00 PM. It's free and presents a different style of music every week. From classical, 50s thru the 90s, disco, rock and roll, to western. Everyone will find something they like. Last weekend my wife and I and some friends went and joined about two hundred others, and enjoyed music from the 60s and 70s. My wife and I and many of her friends were dancing down front on the dancefloor most of the night and we are in our sixties. Great fun, good company and refreshments are for sale on site by the local community groups at very reasonable prices. This is a "must check out" while...

Baker park is a lovely park in downtown Frederick Maryland. The park has a great compliment of amenities from tennis courts and public pool, to baseball and soccer fields. The paths are all paved and perfect for wheel chair access with minimal inclines. Culler lake is a beautiful feature in the center of the park with a lovely fountain and plentiful birds like black-crowned night herons and ducks. We visited the park as a part of a run and absolutely loved our time here. Wish it was closer so we could come back.

This park runs parallel to Carroll Creek and has a trail that runs beside the creek. At the front is a reservoir with waterfalls, careful there's a large slope here. In the park is a bell tower that rings. Further back the creek becomes more desolate and overgrown. There's a suspended bridge that gives great views of the park. There's the usual offerings such as a playground and picnic pavilions. A public pool was there but not open despite being July. Perhaps because a thunderstorm just came through.
