I'm not much for doing reviews but I feel the need for this one. Let me start by saying the only reason it is even getting 2 stars is because of the server being nice, not very consistant, but nice. We were on our way home from a VA beach weekend that was not the most enjoyable so I found this place and looked like it had good reviews and frankly had a funny name so we figured what the hell lets stop since it's father's day.

We got our table and ordered drinks and that's where it started going south. We got our deinks fairly wuickly but then it took about 10 minutes for the server to come back and take our appetizer order. We put that in and when they came the server didn't ask if we wanted an entree until we had literally finished the appetizers. We put in pur entree order and it took almost 1.5 hours for us to get our food. Mind you we still had a 5 hour drive ahead of us. The server came and apologized for it takin so long and asked if we wanted it to go and that it was next up to come out. 5 minutes later the delivered food to 2 other tables. The manager came out and said that they got slammed and that he apologizes for the wait and that it woyld be out in 10 minutes. To be clear there weren't more than 30 people in and outside the place. It was another 30 minutes before our food finally came out. My daughters chicken alfredo had burnt chicken and my sons cheesesteak was almost past well done telling me that they had been sitting there and got cold so they put them under a broiler and burnt them. My burger, which was classified on their menu as having been voted best burger in Fredericksburg, was nothing spectacular and not worth the wait. My wifes reuben was ok but you can tell ours was fairly fresh.

I have to say that I was thoroughly disappointed with this establishment and with it being veteran owned it is even more disappointing that they don't take more pride in it. The mansger said they were slammed but the waitress said the whole kitchen staff was new. I wanted a hat and shirt because it was a fun name and the name has some meaning but frankly didn't want to give them any more...

My wife and I wanted to give this Fredericksburg staple a try after hearing about how great 6 Bears and a Goat was from so many people. We have had their beer for years and have enjoyed them every time, but unfortunately we did not have a great experience dining at the brewery. We do want to come back to see if today was just an off night. We were told it would be a 40-45 minute wait, which is no big deal, but we had to wait in our car because the waiting area was full with no additional space for even 2 people. After about an hour we realized something might be wrong when clicking on the toasttab “see where you are on the waitlist” and it was essentially blank with only a “join our waitlist” button. We went inside to see what was going on and found out that our name had been cleared from the waitlist with no attempts to contact us. We were seated immediately, which was appreciated. Our food took almost 40 minutes from ordering to getting it at the table and it was lukewarm and seemed to have been ready for a decent while. My wife’s burger had a single sad piece of lettuce and it was hard to believe that it was “voted best burger by Fredericksburg” because it was a little soggy and lukewarm. For $15.99 we expected a burger similar to ones we have had at Rebellion in downtown Fred, but rather it was a step up from a Burger King burger. I got the chicken strip basket with the strips tossed in the zesty beer-b-q sauce and it wasn’t bad, but it was definitely the most tomato based bbq sauce I have ever had. Ultimately we didn’t say anything about our food because we had waited almost 2 hours from beginning to food on the table and were really hungry by then. All in all, we were disappointed knowing the reputation this brewery has, and our beers we had are the only reason we are giving 3 stars. We were hoping it would be a fun night at a new place, but we ended up leaving as soon as we could post finishing our food and beers. We hope our next experience here is better than tonight but it probably won’t be...

Arrived at 6:30 and stood at the host podium for 5 min before someone showed up to to tell us it’s a 10 min wait, 15 min later we were seated outside in a tent with no lights on, I ask if we can sit inside and am told there’s no spots available. After sitting in the dark for 5 more min the waitress showed up. We order a coke, iced tea and an appetizer. We sit and watch as drinks and food are brought out to people seated outside the tent for a while before I go inside and ask someone to turn the lights on and see about our drinks… a few min later some lights are turned on, and we see our waitress walk by with drinks for others. We call for her attention and she walks past without acknowledging, 5 min later she goes by again, I try to get her attention with no response, on her way back she stops and buries her face in her tablet while standing 6 feet from us, we both call for her attention, nothing..2nd time nothing and she starts to walk away.. I yell loud enough people inside pokes their head out to see what that was and she finally turns around and I ask where my drinks and food are? She says my food will be atleast 20 min and she’ll get our drinks in a little bit. I look at my watch to see it’s now 7:25… I tell them forget it and leave. Nearly 45 min of sitting at a table being ignored and never even given a water….

This isn’t a one off experience either. Of the 3 times I’ve tried them not over have I been served my drinks and food in...

Visited on a COVID Sat night. Hostess asked if we wanted inside or outside. I asked if outside was heated, to which she replied no. It was about 45 degrees, so not sure why were even offered that option. No wait to be seated, but the first table we were taken to, someone said not to seat us there because it was a favorite table for an employee. Really? We did get seated and sampled several beers as well as three appetizers. There was a wide selection of beers, but most of the ones I tried lacked flavor depth that I expect from small craft breweries. They were decent, just not was at I expected. The Siberian Express is the one exception. It was a special offering and was quite good. We had a bacon wrapped kielbasa, three variety hamburger sliders, and Ruben egg rolls. All were good. The burgers were a bit dry. The other two were worth trying. Finished off with a blackberry crumble with apples and whipped cream. Again, it was good, but dry. I believe it would have been better with ice cream or something else to add a bit of moisture. I really want to give this a higher rating, but this is an honest assessment. I will probably try it again, but it's not at the top of my list to return. I do like that they had an ongoing "buy a Vet a beer" program and the ability to add $5 to your tan to assist a first responder family during a Christmas.

Stopped here while traveling home. Great vibe inside, friendly and welcoming environment. Food was good - we had the pretzel as an appetizer, patty melt and grilled cheese. Side of poutine fries, the fries could have been cooked longer, they were a little on the soggy side. Would eat here again when in the area.

The brewery experience is very short so it actually suits beginners and those with a tight itinerary. It’s always nice to learn about the process and meet those crafting local beers you’re soon to try at a meal! The location is tucked away so it’s quieter than you may expect; lack of road lights means you should drive there carefully in the evening. Both outdoor, tent, and indoor seating are available; great for events and large groups. The food was just ok, the descriptions were exciting but the execution left me confused on the value and details. My fried fish filet came out hot and crispy, but fell apart quickly with just one bite; not enjoyable to eat and difficult to dip. No matter what you eat, the best thing will probably be the dessert, which really saved the meal for us! If possible, you must try the chai spice ice cream sandwich; I do love seasonal things!
