1st visit at a Freddy's for food. I utilzed a free Veterans Day coupon for a combo meal. Tihe custard based Turtle is an excellent desert that I have had 4 times previously.
The bacon double cheeseburger combo I had included tiny fries which I didn't care for. The burger was so salty I couldn't eat all of it. The drink station was not working. Not even the ice. The ice tea was very watered down. The wife's chilli cheese dog was good. She didn't care for the fries either. The ketchup package condiment bin had all the packages stuck together with old exploded ketchup. Washed up my hands and tried the ketchup dispenser and little paper cups. Dispenser would only dispense a very small amount per push and only had 2 paper cups available. The dispenser was full of ketchup. Told an employee and he provided clean packs.
My Turtle Sunday was great as always. I utilized my app sign up and award for a regular concrete caramel for the wife. She liked it but commented that the caramel shake from DQ was better. At this point I would only return for Turtle Sunday.
*Note this review was completed without using ridiculous un-discriptive terms like out-of-bounds, OMG, on point, awesome, the bomb, yummy, delish, to die for, do your self a favor, trust me, or kids emojis etc.. Describe the food, service (or lack of) and provide details on the cost/copy of check and include pictures! Is the place clean? No disrespect to the employees but no one cares about the waiter/waitress/clerk names, or if they look like they fell face first into a tackle box. They get changed like underwear and you don't get to pick one. No we don't care about your allergies or the need for gluten free food.

Read moreSo this was the 2nd restaurant we dined in at since the pandemic. I've always wanted to try this place b/c I've driven passed it so many times. I liked the idea of the old fashioned burger place.
So traffic was insane so we needed a place to eat to wait it out. We came here intending to buy and eat in the parking lot, but there wasn't many people inside, so we opted to eat in. I liked that they have one way in so you don't have a bunch of traffic going by people who are eating. They have tables blocked off and they clean off tables before you sit down, so that was nice. They also give you your cup top and straw in a little paper bag, like a fry bag. So that was nice, that you don't have to worry about a bunch of other people touching them.
I ordered the #1, original double with cheese and fries. I had mayo, pickles, onions. I like the thin patties b/c I just don't like eating that much meat. The meat was really fresh tasting and like it actually had seasoning on it. I can only compare it to 5 guys which I don't like the taste of their meat. I do which I'd add some ketchup b/c I'm not a fan of burger places cheese for some reason, it just taste weird to me, but I wanted something to cut that flavor. The pickles on the burger might have done that, but the pickles were a bit weak in dill flavor. So that was a bit disappointing b/c I am a big fan of pickles, esp when they include the big sliced ones like they do here.
I will also say, if you're going to eat inside, wear a jacket and pants and shoes b/c it's FREEZING in here! I was wearing a jacket and was grateful to put my mask back on when I was done eating, b/c I need the warmth.
Overall, I would def come back here to try more items, like their hot dogs and shakes and ice creams. I love that they have a...
Read moreWas in the mood for hot dogs so I did a little Google search and Freddy's popped up. Looking at the pictures I actually thought it was a local place in Fredericksburg but it seems to be a national chain at least that's what the cashier told me. I'm a big Chicago dog fan and I was intrigued that they had their own Freddy's version of it. I got a combo meal with the Chicago dog and their shoestring french fries which I made into chili cheese fries and a Diet Coke. After you make it water they give you a little slip and you can take a seat and wait for them to call your number. The place kind of has a 1950s Vibe with red and white checkerboard colors throughout. They have a soda dispensing machine that you get to pick your own drink and fill up with free refills. Food talk about 10 minutes to get which wasn't too bad. The Chicago dog is definitely their own version of it and doesn't have some of the traditional things oh, but it was actually very good. One of the things I think I even preferred over a poppy seed bun was the butter toasted bun. It doesn't have a little Chili Pepper on it but it was really good. The shoestring Fry's we're fried to perfection and they stayed pretty crispy, at least for a while with the chili and cheese on top of them. They also had a couple of different dipping sauces that you could grab when you go pick up your food. Overall I was very impressed with the whole meal and setup of the place. They have a drive-thru and have a number of different burgers, ice cream and shakes you can choose from. Hopefully they'll open one up a little closer here in the Richmond area, but if you're anywhere near one I would highly recommend...
