Bland broth and expensive for what you get.
Was craving for some Pho today and saw decent review in this place. Went in and waited by the door for about a minute, no one came to sit me. There was a few wait staff by the cash machine so I thought we will have to order first before they were to sit me. Ordered and was surprised by the price. $11.95 for a large pho, which is pretty expensive for pho. But maybe the portion size and broth will be worth it. Paid, gave my name and sat down. Then the food came, in a togo bag...my fault for not being clear when I ordered. So I asked if I can eat there instead. They put the food back in a bowl and brought it back. And the side veggie...Basel, bean sprouts, pepper and lime....ALL VERY OLD LOOKING. Brown leaves, limpy sprouts, dried out pepper and lime. It looks like it's been sitting out for hours or has been served but not eaten so it was reused. Not appetizing at all. Asked for more Basel which they were happy to give. It came out fresh, so a plus! But very disappointed as the broth was bland and portion size very small too. Even after adding the hoisen sauce and hot sauce to bring out the taste, it didn't help. Broth is everything for pho, if it's good, then it's not a good deal. I want to like this place as it's very clean and close to my house, but after eating a full bowl of large pho and I'm still hungry, its not worth it, especially it cost me $13.57 after tax. There are better pho that's cheaper in the surrounding area. And if I want to make the drive, Tacoma will have places that charge $10 for a large with better broth. The...
Read moreUsually this place is awesome....tonight, different story. #1 when we walked in most of the tables were dirty (not cleared from previous customers) and the hostess/waitress asked if we wanted to dine in which we stated we did. She looked around and said "where do you want to sit?" Clearly the 2 people working the front were overwhelmed but why the attitude? We stated the only open (clean) both in the corner. #2 We ordered and I stated " no spice". My wife ALSO told her no spice on my dish. It came out with spice. I took it up to the counter and stated it was spicy. The waitress started to argue saying I never said no spice on my dish (which both my wife and I told her). She said "Well, do you want me to make another one?" I told her no. Rule 1 of dining out...if she already has an attitude...I don't want the "special" remake. #3...and this is the kicker....they had a drink my wife ordered, and never got AND the dish I never ate on the bill! I told her I never got the Bubble tea drink and I'm not paying for a dish you messed up and I never ate. She told the other employee working the register" I didn't get her drink" so they took it off but they said I had to pay for my dish because she offered me another. The young lady working there is rude and clearly has an attitude. We go here quite often....never again. DON'T DINE-IN unless you are used to rude service....
Read moreToday, like many days, I ordered some Ramen from Pho & Tofu Canyon Crossing in Frederickson. Typically my meals are delish and well portioned. However, today I ordered the Seafood Ramen. What I received was about 3/4 a bowl of lettuce (why they put lettuce in my Ramen is unknown as typically I am given a small package of stuff to place in the Ramen like sprouts and such). Worse, the small amount of noodles I received were hardly worth mentioning. The total for this Ramen was over $16. For What? Even the "seafood" was menial in portion. Fake crab and three pieces of shrimp. When I called the restaurant I was told "sorry, there is a problem in the kitchen" and they made no effort to rectify the issue. So, I got cheated out of my lunch and needless to say, I will NEVER go back. Worse, the taste of the broth was really bland and, gross - I found a black hair in my Gyoza. I also took notice of the cashier - who handled money and then touched the veggies that go on the ramen, attempted to wash his hands by quickly running water over them with no soap...about 2 seconds. Did not put on gloves to handle the food. GROSS!! This is a perfect example of how you lose a good,...
