I'm bummed to say I was sorely disappointed by the food here. I've been looking forward to trying it for months waiting for it to open, and although my wife and I had a lunch date planned here for today I couldn't wait and had it for a late lunch yesterday thinking I'd like it so much I wouldn't mind eating it two days in a row. Unfortunately, not only was it not good enough to come back today, I'm not sure I'll be back here again. At least not for 6 months or so for the newness to wear off.
I debated between giving 2 or 3 stars. All things considered (friendly staff, mostly clean restaurant, and quick service) I wanted to give 3, but based solely on the food I had to go with a 2, because at the end of the day that's why we go out to eat and I figured most would only see the average of review scores and not read each individual review.
Anyway, I ordered the Bacavo Chicken Sandwich, regular fries with Cajun seasoning, and a cookies & cream shake. After tax, that came out to more than $25. I know everything is more expensive these days, but that was a bit excessive if you ask me. I tried the fries first. Cold, soggy, and WAY overseasoned. Alright they're super busy, maybe these were made 15 min ago and a lot of people have ordered something different. The meal did come out pretty quickly after all. Next, the sandwich. Bun is cold. I'm talking just came out of the fridge, didn't warm up at all cold. Terrible first impression. The chicken tastes good and the avocado is fresh. Oh, but the bacon is soggy and undercooked 😞 maybe the shake is good at least? Def not as good as Chick-fil-A's cookies & cream shake. More in line with a McFlurry, though I haven't had one of those in maybe 15 years so going off memory here.
I distract myself with my phone to try and ignore how bad everything is and finish scarfing things down as this was my first (and ended up being only) meal of the day. Something just did not sit right with my stomach. Maybe the shake? I don't eat fast food often, but this was a "alright definitely shouldn't have had that 4th plate of food at the buffet earlier" feeling, not the typical "well I'm not eating McDonald's for another 8 months again" feeling. Bad enough it ended up being my only meal yesterday, and upon waking and having another Alka Seltzer, I'm still recovering but not in as much stomach pain this morning.
Safe to say, I had high hopes for this place and was sorely disappointed. I hate to leave a negative review as they're new, the staff I interacted with were great, and things were mostly clean, but man between the taste, temperate, and after effects of the food itself, really can't recommend this place to anyone. If you eat fast food often it may not bother you as much. If you're looking for a quick bite it's definitely not "bad" per se. But at these prices, super chix very much needs to step their quality up. Maybe 6 - 12 months from now they'll have worked...
Read moreI usually do not leave reviews, but I feel it is necessary now. The location is great, the staff are very nice and the inside is clean. Unfortunately, the quality of cooking the food went down each time I visited recently. The first month it opened, the chicken was amazing. Fried to golden brown perfection, the fries perfectly cooked as well and given in a very generous portion much like five guys. Not dry either and well seasoned. I had two other good experiences after that first month. Had a three month gap and decided to go back and that was the first bad batch I received. The quality significantly less than the first impression I had of them. Around a month after that, i tried one last time because they are so conveniently located, I wanted to try again. That was around 3 months ago. It was also when I officially said that was my last time going. Which is a shame because I live nearby. The fries were dry, fried so long, there were too many dried brown and hard bits in the batch (I ended up throwing 85% of the fries away due to this). The chicken was too dark brown as well due to the oil likely not being changed. So frying in old oil had become a trend, as well as constant staff turnover rate. That was the second time within two months of the other this had happened with their chicken and fries. I was so glad I had not brought my friend with me that time. I was also very disappointed because I threw most of the food out. I wish I had taken a picture but I was too disappointed and frustrated at the waste of money. At this point, I just go to the Popeyes on Canyon Rd. I have not brought my friends back either. I really wanted to replace Popeyes with them because their chicken is gmo free and free range which was a refreshing concept in the food chain realm. However, if you prepare your food in old oil, overcook the chicken and fries, and under season the fries on top of that, I will just keep going to Popeyes where I see them change the oil and serve consistently golden brown, tender, juicy good chicken. Please work on your food quality so that I may give you another chance in the future. Restaurants do not often get another chance after two strikes with me. The third will be the final. Popeyes fries might not be the greatest either, but the chicken is very consistently tender and golden brown, and their mashed potatoes are amazing. If they had gmo free chicken too, you guys would really have a problem keeping new customers coming because their lot and drive through are constantly busy. Please...
Read moreI will NEVER go here again. Friday night 9/8 approximately 8:15 pm. I came all the way from Lakewood because I heard about this new chicken spot that opened that was supposed to be really good. We get there and there was only 1 group of 3 guys in front of us. We order 2 chicken sandwiches some tenders and fries, can't get any custard because they are all out of everything except blackberry. No big deal. I pay EVEN TIP ON TOP OF THAT go sit down and WAIT and wait and wait and wait. Again it's not crazy busy and trust me there had to be at least 6 employees working maybe even more. The kitchen is running terrible. 20 minutes goes by still no food. Finally we see the guys in front of us get their food. Our should be next. Again we wait forever then we see people who came in AFTER us getting their food! I'm confused so I go to the "runner" and ask what's up? The guest that just got their food even chime in and say "they were here before us" the runner tells me they are waiting for French fries for our order. Which makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE since the people who just got their food have fries on the plate? She proceeds to say the same thing over and over as I point out the obvious over and over then she just puts her hands up and says "I just work here I don't know" she says Our food is next. Well it wasn't! Member those 3 guys who were right in front of us and got their food yeah they are DONE eating now and are about to leave. People who have literally come in way after us continue to get their food. I'm completely done at this point and get up to go ask for a refund. As the cashier goes to get the manager they place our food on the empty table. Male manager comes ask what happened I let him know and I want a refund. He says okay and ask for my receipt. Well I didn't get one because the cashier did not give me one. I tell him everything I ordered plus the tip and a drink I got. He was petty enough to ask me if I took a drink from the drink obviously I did I have been in here for 40 minutes now. Absolutely TERRIBLE experience. I came all the way from lakewood to end up eating at olive garden and ended up paying less and having a much better experience. I would look into the night shift general manager seems like it's not being ran well at all. There was a young man working behind the counter and he was literally about to cry, a coworker came up and gave him a hug and he was visibly upset and she took him outside to help calm him down. Bunch of kids working here...
