Bubbakoo's Burritos — Restaurant in Freehold Township

Creepy Uncle Dave here. I visited this place for dinner and I have to say I really like the food here. Bubbakoo’s is like an immature Chipotle. Now I know what you’re gonna say, Hey Creepy, what in the hell does that mean. Well I’ll tell ya. Bubbakoo’s serves burritos and tacos with a twist. They offer a wide array of sauces and flavors that range from your typical salsa to General Tso’s sauce to a super hot ghost pepper sauce to add to your burritos or burrito bowls. My boss once said if you’re gonna offer a variety, make it interesting. At the moment the only thing I thought of was the Jolly Rancher variety pack but couldn’t make the connection in how that was relevant to what I was selling. So being the advantageous employee I was, I ran to the store and brought the Jolly Rancher’s back and put them on my desk. It didn’t help me sell anymore but it did satisfy my sweet tooth. Anyway, Bubbakoo’s also offers wings, nachos, French fries, egg rolls and more. Basically, this is not your boring old Chipotle burrito shop(I still like Chipotle though). I come here to spice my burrito bowl up a little bit. This time I ordered a burrito bowl with brown rice, black beans, onions and peppers, shredded chicken, hot salsa, corn salsa, cilantro, sriracha crema, and Nashville hot sauce. It was a gastronomical masterpiece! I’d order it again but I like to try different sauces and combinations every time I stop in. I love this place and I think you would too. Stop on in. Won’t be back to this location. I work in the plaza and I have been a long time customer of the point pleasant location. Today I visited on my break which I ordered a chiwawa. When I got to the register and she ran my card - I asked how to input this into the rewards. There was a language barrier and she got her supervisor. The supervisor was then confused. I just asked for the receipt which I will handle myself.

Then I realized that she charged me $2.75 for nacho cheese on a chiwawa. I explained to him that chiwawa comes with nacho cheese - queso is an upcharge. He pointed at the portion of the menu where it states that it’s an upcharge, however, if he knew his product - a chiwawa is a “cheesy rice ball smothered with cheese”. So I pulled up the location on the app and showed him how online it does not have an upcharge on nacho cheese for a chiwawa (whereas a burrito was). I was very frustrated at this point because if he would’ve told me it’s an upcharge before placing it on my entree - we wouldn’t have this issue.

Other than that, I got back and the meat on my entree was inedible. Entire staff tried it - don’t worry we all will avoid this location. The location also is very dirty- like you have to wipe your own table to sit. Register area disgusting as well.

This is the worst place to order food!!! We have ordered from them for a while and never had to much of an issue besides It takes a little long for delivery. But we work in a place that we can't pick up the order. We placed an 80+ dollar order at 4 pm this evening and at 6 pm still haven't received our order. After calling and speaking to the manager they made us aware that they actually do not have a delivery guy and hire an outside delivery service. And they went to the wrong place and then delivered the food to the wrong place and when they finally realized it they didn't have our number to let us know. Supposedly that was the case. But at any rate they should make you aware they don't deliver. We called empire sszechaun to order food instead after we got no help from the manager at bubbakoos and received our cooked Chinese food in 15 min from ordering. Bubbakoos told us after two hours it will still be another 30-45 mins I am now writing this on a full belly of Chinese food!!! Never again will we order from them and their customer service...
