Chili's Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Freehold Township

Let me preface this review by saying that Chili's, particularly Chili's in Freehold, was once one of my favorite places to eat. Their burgers always tasted amazing and the food quality was often top notch. The service has rarely been stellar, but when you are talking about a dining chain, you kind of expect that.

After years of loving Chili's, I have to say, my last 5 visits have not been great. 4 of those visits were during busy hours, so I gave the location the benefit of the doubt. During those visits, service was same as always; limited but acceptable. The food, on the other hand has changed for the worse. The burgers are never cooked to the desired wellness. Medium ranges from medium rare to very well. The bacon on the burgers is almost always burnt. The sides portions is significantly smaller now. Many of the appetizers are no longer prepared with care. I really cannot find many positives out of Chili's

What was once one of my number 1 choices for dining out has now dropped off quite a bit to the point where it's hard for me to even consider it any more.

If it were based solely on the food this place is the best for me and trust me I would give it a 5. We visit various restaurants trying to find the best steak. This place has been the best in that category but when it comes to staff this is where is goes downhill. A couple of years back they had a lovely staff with members who actually cared about pleasing the customer, now; and this is mostly the female servers, they just dont care. They rarely come back to check if you need refills or plates are cleared. They get orders wrong when they have repeated them back to you correctly and they look frustrated when you call them to the table to ask for refills, napkins, plates cleared and etc. Once again this has only happened to us with the female servers Then these same servers expect a generous tip, uummmm, i dont think so. A family of 4 shouldn’t have to wait 2 hours for food that they didn’t even get, only to find out by the manager that half the order wasn’t processed because our server disappeared. Was lied to not once but twice by our original server and a boy who took over at one point that seemed nice but couldn’t be honest. It’s just upsetting when you feel like a joke to the staff when all we wanted to know was when our food was gonna show up. If our original server had faced us we wouldn’t have been upset as we are. We did not give her any sort of conflict, so we don’t know why she felt the need to no longer come near us. It was humiliating and left us frustrated and embarrassed. The only time we showed our frustration was with the boy who couldn’t give us a straight answer, and to the manager who finally gave us an hour over 2 hours later.
