As a local Google reviewer I recently visited Longhorn Steakhouse in Freehold and had mixed feelings about the experience. While the food was generally enjoyable, the service left something to be desired. Our server did their best, but the slow and understaffed service resulted in a less-than-stellar experience. However, I still recommend this place and plan on giving it another chance. Perhaps I just visited at an off time, and my next experience will be better. Starting with the appetizers, the Something Wings were a hit, earning a solid 4 out of 5 stars. However, the Texas Onion was a bit underwhelming, only earning 3.5 out of 5 stars. For our entrees, I tried the chicken sandwich, which exceeded my expectations and deserves a rating of 4 out of 5 stars. The ribeyes were also quite popular among my companions, averaging 4 out of 5 stars. However, the ribs weren't quite up to par, only earning a 3 out of 5 stars rating. The French fries were decent but nothing spectacular, earning them a 3 out of 5 stars. Finally, the Chocolate Stampede was the highlight of the meal, earning a solid 4 out of 5 stars. Overall, while I generally enjoy dining at Longhorn Steakhouse and the food is normally consistent, my recent experience fell a bit short due to the underwhelming service and lack of consistency. Nonetheless, I would still give this restaurant a respectable 3.5 out of 5 stars and recommend it to others as it has the potential to be a real crowd-pleaser with a little improvement in the service department

Second time here. I wanted a good steak for my birthday without breaking the bank. We already did Texas Roadhouse for my Daughter's birthday last February. So, I decided to go to Longhorn Steakhouse in Freehold. I've been here before and I enjoyed that dinner before. This time it was a mixed bag. Our server was friendly, but seemed too frazzled. She talked a bit too fast and had a tendency to eat her words. She didn't offer bread right away. We had to ask for it. Her excuse was that she couldn't carry the bread while holding the drinks. Whatever. The food was still very good. The steaks came at the right temperatures, were tender, juicy and seasoned right. Of course, this spot is no fancy New York Steakhouse, but I'd pick this place over Chris Ruth's any day. You get the best bang for the buck. One beef (no pun intended) we had, though, was that the waitress didn't mention that the second sides were extra. She just said that the steaks come with two sides. When we got our bill, we were surprised to be charged for them. We complained. Management was kind enough to take them off our bill. Will we be coming back to this spot. Maybe. We'll be more careful when ordering sides next time and hope we don't get the same server.

From Experiance, Longhorn varies in quality of food and service, this one did hit the mark although I've had better Brussel sprouts at other locations. We did had an amazing lunch experience at LongHorn Steakhouse! Our server Sandra was an absolute gem--attentive, friendly, and made dining pleasurable! The food was good! We ordered the NY Strip, Filet Mignon, and added a lobster tail--everything was perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The sides were just as impressive: the brussels sprouts, caramelized onions, broccoli, sweet potato, and salad were fresh and delicious. Of course, we can't forget the warm, fresh bread--so good! And cant forget the Texas Onion (think blooming onion from the other guys) Highly recommend this location for a fantastic dining experience. We'll definitely be back! It was clean and organized.

first time ever experiencing this restaurant, and i went with family. Just a small 3 person party. The staff right from the entrance we were warm and friendly and sat us at a table quickly.

We took our time looking at the menu and ordered 2 soups and 3 entrees. The two soups were the Potato soup which my family members really enjoyed. We then ordered one T bone well done, one Rib eye well done, and one Outlaw medium.

The restaurant is not very large and when we arrived there were plenty of booths and table. a few two tops and a single person diner, the largest was a party in the back a 6 top in a booth.

not a very busy night on July 1st, and we waiting quite sometime for our meal between 15 to 20mins.

We entertained ourselves with bread and then our salads, and finally our meals arrived. My family members hungrily began eating their steaks, the moment I cut into mine, it was over cooked, Medium well to be exact. I immediately brought this to the attention of our server Ian who promptly went to the back and returned stating they would prepare a new steak for me.

i ate my side of grilled shrimp and rice and my family finished their steaks proclaiming its flavor. When my new steak arrived i was asked to cut into the center to confirm temp and it was a perfect medium. Yet when i placed the first bite into my mouth it was disappointed.

it was a flavorless grilled steak, not tender at all, and definitely not well marbled as specified on the menu. It was the worst steak i have had in my life.

i understand why my order was over cooked, they had finished cooking my steak and then placed it with its side of mash in the warming window while the next two item of the table were being cooked. Because they were well done, my steak continued to cook under the heating lamps.

Yet despite the comped the first steak and provided me a second steak the lack of seasoning just further degraded my opinion of the restaurant.

For the amount of patrons there that night, the restaurant did not seem understaffed. Yet you had bus boy waiting tables, the restaurant manager waiting tables, and the wait staff waiting tables.

If the manager remained in the kitchen and expedited orders to the cooks, they could have told them. Hold on the outlaw, fire the rib eye and t bone. They could have also assured that each dish was being seasoned and ready to leave the window.

in the end I left the restaurant severely disappointed and silent in my dissatisfaction to my family members. They did not have experience in food service and even less what a good seasoned well prepared steak tastes like.

If I go again, it will be in the company of my family members who desire to go, and should i arrive, I will just order a double portion of grilled shrimp and rice. As that was the only satisfactory item i had, and would have left...

Arrived Saturday evening about 8:10 pm. Greeted and seated promptly. Server came over 5 minutes later. Took our drink order, one draft beer, one jack and coke and one Mr. Pibb. 5 minutes later drinks are served, draft head had dissolved leaving a 2” gap at the rim. Obviously sat for a few minutes before being served. Took out appetizer order, spinach dip w/ pita chips and spicy shrimp w/ cherry peppers. Both were good. Salads were served before our appetizers were finished. Caesar salad dressing was very salty, way too much shaved cheese on top. I ordered a ribeye steak medium rare with a loaded baked potato for myself. My son had a ribeye with Mac and cheese and my friend had a NY strip steak w/ a loaded potato as well. We were served our food and my sons steak and my friends steak were fine, mine looked like a reconstructed piece of meat. I sent it back. They prepared me a new steak. It looked fine but the potato was cold and the seasoning was very salty. I ordered crispy Brussels sprouts and asparagus for us to share. The Brussels sprouts were mushy on top and the bottom pieces were so hard it almost broke my teeth. Asparagus should have been trimmed as the bottoms were woody. It’s apparent that management does not know how to work a dining room since the manager walked around the room, talking to staff but not approaching a single guest to inquire about their experience. He looked at me and smiled as he walked by, two people had dinner plates in front of them, I did not, red flag? Kitchen manager needs to train and supervise his staff on seasoning the steaks. I am a retired restaurant manager, Chef and owner of 3 restaurants on both coasts. I worked for over 50 years and have made a great reputation for myself and my restaurants. This is a chain, I get it. But the area manager needs to focus his efforts on the basics. It all runs downhill folks! The kicker was when I got the bill the server tells me, I didn’t charge you for the steak you sent back! Like I would have...

In the beginning we had seen online that there were no wait time guess things change in person, we were sat at a table very close to the people chatting, so we wanted to have a booth instead of being seated out and in the open is not okay.

Our server gave us time to decide being that we were new to the area and first time eating at long horn.

We put in an appetizer for the parmesan spinach dip, and it was ok just a little bit burnt on top with the pita chips (these pita chips were the only part that we enjoyed).

So, we placed an order I wanted a burger well done with grilled onions (very greasy looked like sauteed mushrooms), my wife had a 6oz steak with lobster and mac and cheese. after 30 mins our food came out! this is 10:40 before their restaurant closes soon (we were seated at 9:34, also we came at 9:08 pm and told it would be 15-minute wait)

Sent the food back as soon as I took a bite of the burger it was warm not how I expect food to be and seen that my honey mustard had been dried up sitting their when I dipped a fry in and took a bite the fry was cold.

I them call over a server to ask the manager to come so I could speak with her, then the manager came over to my table leaning over me in belly shirt which is very out of dress code to be working a kitchen as I spoke with her she didn't show that she cared about our concerns with the food and she states that she didn't care but then she rephrased and said she can remake our food and she doesn't care if we stay past closing time because at this point its 10:50.

After discussing with my Partner, we just decide that we just don't want the food remade as it should be well the first time, we ended up leaving just paying for the spinach dip and drinks.

Next morning I wake with food poisoning throwing up and had diarrhea.

Sorry for the inappropriate response but I should have...
