Sure, it's more expensive furniture by comparison. But the QUALITY is what counts. It's a great product and a great company, to boot. When I was in need to upgrade my chair, it's the first place my wife and I thought of. From the time we were greeted upon walking in, our sales person, the fabulous Robyn Zandomenego, was so personable, so professional and overall helpful it hardly seemed as if we were in the store for almost 3 hours (3 hours?!). We are looking forward to receiving our new. long overdue, comfy recliner chair. Update: Robin promised us that if the chair went on sale over the holidays that we would get the reduced price. Well? Not only did it, but I was watching TV and an ad came on for La-Z-Boy advertising the chair for hundreds of dollars LESS than what we paid! I sent three (3) emails and called the store at least five (5) times leaving messages for our salesperson AND the store manager. Someone told me the stores are all franchised and NOT owned by La-Z-Boy and make up their own rules but I don’t know about that. I’ve never heard from anyone in management from the store. We were going to purchase an entire living room set from the store but instead will shop elsewhere (there are plenty of honest furniture stores in our area). Attached is a photo I took of the advert showing the same exact product we bought for quite a bit more on the TV. UPDATE: although we liked the looks of the sofas and side tables and other furniture we eventually bought elsewhere, we did give La-Z-Boy every opportunity to make this up to us. They didn't disappoint in that regard: WE NEVER HEARD FROM THEM AGAIN. So, we purchased a sofa, several tables and chairs, lamps and thre (3) queen sized beds from a comparable and excel retailer in the area and are extremely hoary with their service. I hate leaving a negative review. Truly. But we gave the La-Z-Boy people the opportunity to make the original chair sale right and they couldn’t care less to help us with our other furniture needs. We will happily bring our...
Read moreShopping at the Freehold La-Z-Boy store last night was one of the worst experiences of my retail life. First of all, the store hours that come up on google are incorrect. It says it closes at 8, but the staff mentioned they closed at 7. Regardless, my mother and I popped in around 6:30 to quickly get some names of fabric so we can narrow down her purchase options. When we went into the store, a staff member immediately greeted us and we let her know nicely that we did not need any help as we have previously been there and already had someone who was helping us. She was clearly unhappy and stormed away. She proceeded to watch us the rest of the time making us very uncomfortable and when we were finishing up, she comes over and gives us her card even though I already indicated we had someone who was helping us (she was off on Thursday). She then let us know the store was closing and we said ok we’re finishing up. Meanwhile there is another woman in the store being assisted and trying out furniture. She was clearly not leaving anytime soon and was not being given any warnings. As we are grabbing our stuff to leave the employee came back over and once again said we’re closing now very rudely and proceeded to walk us to the door (which was locked and she didn’t even open it for us) and the second we were out she locked it again. The other shopper was still in the store being shown around. The employee was so incredibly rude, especially to a customer who is clearly buying thousands of dollars’ worth of furniture. They basically kicked us and only us out of the store. I can’t believe this employee works with people. She has no people skills, is rude, paranoid, and doesn’t take no for an answer. Such a contrast to my experience with another employee a week prior who helped me out around the same exact time and didn’t have any issues. You can bet we will be calling corporate offices and the owner of this location. This is unacceptable,...
Read moreas with all retail furniture stores the salespeople know nothing about furniture. these stores are staffed with people who come in, fill out an application and are hired on the spot. they have no experience in home goods, much less furniture manufacturing. i was looking for two chairs for my living room and spotted a model on sale. i very clearly (and slowly) asked the salesperson which grade of fabric i would have to choose from in order to purchase the chair at the sale price. he replied i could choose any of the fabrics in the store. i immediately thought this was unusual, but i gave him the benefit of the doubt i selected a fabric and brought a sample home to match it against my sofa. it was perfect, so instead of waiting i drove back the same day all set to order two chairs. but when i got there the salesperson showed me the estimate and it was over $1000 more than the sale price marked on the floor model. the salesperson then told me the chair would be more expensive because i had selected a "new" fabric, and that it was a different grade than what the floor model had shown. had i not asked about restrictions in fabric selection when i first visited in the morning? indeed i had! i normally purchase furniture from custom manufacturers and visit their showrooms in north carolina. but i needed to get in two chairs asap for a get-together in a few weeks and had to go the retail route, aka: retail stores i would never consider frequenting. i shouldn't complain though. i knew better. i knew exactly not to expect professional, or knowledgable service in a retail store. i would chalk it up to the old saying, live and learn ... but again, i knew better. to add insult to injury, the salesperson apologized and said he was "sorry" that I had misunderstood. again, i understood perfectly well, and asked all pertinent questions which said "salesperson" obviously...
