During my recent takeout experience at Chipotle in Freehold, I was hoping for a quick and delicious Mexican meal. Unfortunately, my experience fell short of my expectations. While the basic Chipotle flavors were present in the food, the lack of generous toppings, concerns about the freshness and cleanliness of the food, and the limited availability of ingredients left me feeling underwhelmed.
What added to my disappointment was the ambiance of the restaurant. It was a dull and uninviting space that reminded me of a prison or hospital cafeteria. The plain walls, lack of decoration, and dim lighting did nothing to enhance the dining experience. In fact, I could not imagine sitting down to eat there, and I was glad that I had opted for takeout.
The dry chicken and steak were another disappointment. They lacked the usual juiciness and tenderness that I have come to expect from Chipotle. This made me question the freshness of the ingredients, especially since several menu items were unavailable due to ingredient shortages. Furthermore, the lack of generous toppings made me feel like I was not getting my money's worth.
While the takeout service was quick and efficient, the overall experience left me feeling dissatisfied. I believe that the staff could benefit from more training to ensure that they provide better service to their customers. The restaurant could also benefit from better management to ensure that the ingredients are fresh and available and that the space is clean and welcoming.
Overall, my experience at Chipotle in Freehold was average at best. While the basic flavors were present in the food, the lack of generous toppings, concerns about the freshness and cleanliness of the food, and the uninviting ambiance of the restaurant left me feeling underwhelmed. I would recommend this location only to those who are in a rush and not seeking a high-quality...
Read moreUpdate 2024-12-13: Still suffering with this being my local Chipotle. I've resolved that this is as good as it gets. However, there might be a light at the end of the tunnel ... seems some new management has come in, maybe. I visit about once every 6 months now (used to be multiple times weekly). The food seems to be slightly a bit more fresh. The goddamn ice machine is PERPETUALLY OUT OF ICE .. HOW?!?! Does this place not have a schedule to check/refill ice? So, food is slightly better, but good lord the lines get long. It's improving ... slowly, fingers crossed it keeps improving.
Update 2022-02-18: Apparently I’m a glutton for punishment. This place is still slow. Terrible portions. Chicken doesn’t taste right. Didn’t feel well after eating here a few days prior to this review date. Soda machine is perpetually out of ice. Haven’t been back since. Just drive to Howell or another one. Thiamine is just too disappointing …
Update 2021-09-14: Still slow and many problems happen here. I have only visited a handful of times since last year. Still a huge disappointment.
Update 2020-09-17: Still by far the slowest Chipotle I’ve ever been to. So slow to the point that I don’t eat here often anymore because I can easily be waiting 45-70 minutes for food I ordered over an hour+ prior.
Previous review 2020-07: Good food, but the slowest and most inconsistent service I’ve ever received in any Chipotle, ever. Order online for pickup and delivery and orders are routinely 35-60 minutes late. Unfortunately it’s the only local chipotle. They need a better system or more staff to...
Read moreAs with all Chipotle locations, the food tastes good. Unfortunately there are issues with the service at this location. Last night my daughter and I walked in and there was no line. No one would take our order or even acknowledge us. At first I thought it was because they were preparing online orders. However it turned out that one of the workers was piling a plate of food for himself and making himself a special quesadilla, all while ignoring us. It's funny because I was wondering how so much meat could be piled onto one plate. Finally a female worker came over and asked him what he was doing and he said he was fixing himself some food. She seemed really annoyed at this because he had been ignoring us the whole time, and now there was a long line behind us. I was also surprised to see that they had not been cleaning up the area and there was just food particles everywhere. I would like the manager to know that that girl was working very hard and trying her best to update the old food that was in the bins. It looks like there were a lot of people working, but people mostly just standing around not doing anything. She seemed to be the only one who kept working. Something else that is frustrating about this location is that they don't accept the special coupons or bonuses that you get on the app. I would have to travel at least a 1/2 hour to get to another location to cash in on those freebies. I would eat her more often, but I just get turned off by experiences like this. Even my friends tell me horror stories of waiting two hours for food...
