Me and my sister were just at sams club today and when I went up to self checkout I scanned my mothers card, as I was already scanning my items one of the register workers her name was Concetta looks at us from three registers down and came rushing towards us and asked who’s on the membership. I told her it was my mothers card. She told us we can’t shop there if we are not on the membership so I said ok I understand but let me ask you a question are you asking everyone that comes through these registers ? I know for a fact that she wasn’t because I was standing there for a while waiting to pay. She says yes we have to ask every single person. We stepped to the side and Another register worker came up to us and asked what was going on. I told her the situation and she said unfortunately we need to be a member , I told her I’ve been there before and never be asked. She tells me policies change every day , I asked why is no one else being questioned as I’m standing there watching people go through. How do they know they are not members ??? I said to her how weird it was that we were the only Hispanic people there and she came rushing to us but won’t ask the rest anything. She agreed with me that what that woman did was wrong ! Concetta saw her talking to us and came over and took her away. I understand that you must be a member to shop there but I’m sure I’m not the only nor will be the last persons that comes in with their parents or spouses card without being on the membership and shop . The fact that she came straight to us without asking anyone else was what bothered me. If SAMS CLUB is going to enforce the policy make sure you do it for everyone not just on...
Read moreI’m not one who writes many reviews, and I hate to admit this but I rarely have the urge to write positive reviews about a place but my experience at Sam’s Club yesterday was so amazing the best way I could say thank you to the lady (the manager on duty who helped me) was tell my story. Yesterday, my mother told me to go grocery shopping for the household (her, my son, and my self). I not only don’t do much grocery shopping, I also suffer from major depression and social anxiety so needless to say the outing was a chore that took a lot out of me. When I got to the self pay check out, after ringing up my items, I discovered that I did not have enough to pay for all that I pick out. Accepting that I would have to put some things back, sometimes money is tight, I started to separate the items I needed from the items I didn’t really need (or couldn’t afford). The manager on duty who saw me doing this stopped me and asked if she could cover the cost of the groceries I was gonna put back. She said she liked to do something nice a week and she could count this as her nice thing (I do the same so i understood). Words cannot express how great full I am to Sam’s club for the kind act I experienced yesterday. I cannot remember the last time I walked out of a store feeling so valued as a customer and great full to a corporation. There isn’t much I can do to repay the lady for her kindness. I do plan to “pay it forward” as soon as I can afford it, but I thought at least telling the world of her kind act could be a start. So thank you to the manager on duty at Sam’s club Feb 25, 2025; in Freehold, NJ (hopefully if you ever see this, you know...
Read moreI wish I could give this location a zero-star rating, but unfortunately, that’s not an option. I had a terrible experience with this store last year, addressed it with customer service, and naively hoped it was an isolated incident. Clearly, I was wrong.
On March 16th, I went to Sam’s Club to shop and picked up a package of large muffins along with other items. When we opened the individually wrapped muffins, they were stale and some were covered in mold. These were meant to be snacks for my kids—absolutely disgusting. Thankfully, we caught it before they ate them, but the fact that this was even a possibility is beyond unacceptable.
Since then, I have tried calling the store multiple times, and no one ever picks up. As of this review, I have called eight times today alone. I even tried different departments, but every time they transfer me to membership, I get the same result—silence. This is beyond ridiculous. Considering the amount of money customers spend here, this level of incompetence and disregard for basic customer service is insulting.
I am counting down the days until my membership ends so I can be done with this place for good. Until then, I strongly urge everyone to triple-check the quality of their food—especially fresh produce and now even their supposedly "safe" packaged goods.
If you’re considering a wholesale club, Costco and BJ’s are far better options—both in product quality and customer service. Sam’s Club clearly does not care about its customers.
Attached are pictures of the moldy muffins and a copy...
