SITUATION:

A few days ago, I punctured the back of my iPhone 13 mini and (unknowingly) damaged the battery, screen, and the power button. The back glass was also shattered, with a pierced hole in the middle. I was near-convinced that it was unfixable.

Today, I just started phone shopping, but I wasn’t having much success. So, I did a quick search for nearby phone repair stores.

I was a little apprehensive once I realized this location was a tiny store inside of Walmart (I don’t know about the other Cellairis locations). I gave my phone to Cem, who offered to inspect it—free of charge—before fixing it. I wrote down his phone number, and then I continued phone shopping to no avail.

RESULT:

After about 45 minutes, I returned to the store. I was shocked to find my phone being reassembled—in working condition! As he was fixing my phone, Cem explained the damage. He did not seem concerned that I was there early, nor did he have any problem with me watching part of the phone repair process.

After all was said and done, Cem replaced the battery and the front screen (so much for my “unfixable” phone). He told me he could fix the back glass as well, but I declined because it was a purely cosmetic issue. Instead, I opted to cover the back with a new, tight-fitting case from the selection of cases on the wall. Cem also put on a privacy screen protector at a discount!

• Unfortunately, Cem was not able to fix the power button. However, he did show me how to use the “AssistiveTouch” accessibility shortcut as a workaround. (I am more than happy to keep my phone—even without a power button.)

My phone was tested before leaving the store and I was given a verbal 3-month warranty, should any issues arise. No major issues so far! (And I have typed this entire review out on my fixed phone.)

• I have noticed a small bright spot on my screen. (I will monitor this to see if it gets worse.)

The service I received was phenomenal. I had shattered my phone screen 2 days before my vacation, and I worked from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm both of those days, so I had little time to get it repaired. I called the store around 7:30 to ask if they were still open and after he told me yes, he asked what I needed done and he told me that what I needed was in stock. It took me a while to get there since I didn't live close and he kept in touch to make sure I was still coming. When I got there he wasted no time and got to work right away with just an hour before closing. Within 40 minutes he had finished switching the screens and rubberbanded my phone up so I can take it home in a safe manner where the glue can set properly without any problems. After leaving he chased us down in the parking lot because I had forgotten my phone case since it was rubberbanded up. He was so kind to us the entire time, and to top it off with how quickly he worked to get it done for me, he did an amazing job. The screen is beautiful and I even got a screen protector that was placed on perfectly as well. For the little time he had, I appreciate all the hard work he put into helping me and how well he did.
