Ambiance - 5/5 Great experience wit unique decor, the dining area gives off the old street vibes for sure. When you walked in, immediately you are greeted with this nice Chinese decoration. Even their mugs are unique and give the old street vibes.
Food - 5/5 we ordered some skewers, malatang and tomato beef brisket noodle soup. I said their malatang is the best and the highlight here. We ordered the mild spicy Cheng Du soup base that comes with less soup and serve on a big platter. The broth is clean yet super flavorful, tasty with a good strong hint of spice. The heat level was just nice for us as we get to enjoy the broth without the numbing/burning hot effect.
Their fried tofu and quail eggs skewers are seasoned just nice and only complained is the portion is small as I was expecting more than 3pieces of tofu per skewers. But then again these are not the normal cold tofu (it's the better grade, chewy version).
We ended with their rice cake. It's so good and addictive. I couldn't stop eating and have to hold myself back to save the last piece for my family. It's crunchy on the outside but super light and airy inside (unlike most other rice cakes which are usually fairly dense) And very soft and chewy.
Service - 5/5 Very good, observant and attentive. They provided us with extra napkins without us having to ask for more.
I will for sure...
Read moreOverall a pleasant experience. Reasonable pricing and portion. Authentic taste.
Positives: Food (the Mala Tang/spicy stew mix) tastes good and authentic (not the best, but good...) Portion is reasonable: $20 should fulfill most hungry soul; unlike some other comments, portion of beef is actually decent, wish they can throw in a bit more vege Complementary seasoning bar Environment is clean
Negatives: Service is authentic Chinese style too... No spoon provided, you gotta order through your phone, barely any service at all except serving water, food and check Beef is overcooked Presentation can do a bit finesse to justify the pricing, looks too authentic like $2 street food in China, or a poor college kid's meal prepared in their dorm Lunch special not available on...
Read moreWe came here with a group of four. Order is done by scanning a QR code, adjusting the ingredients wanted and spiciness.
Our orders came out one by one. I had a lower spice tolerance compared to my friends, although I've ordered my "malatang" dish to be mild in spice and the others one level higher. My order was pretty tasty.
One of my friends, who had the priciest order because more items were selected, had their order wrong and it took a while for the order to arrive later. My friend decided to have the order for take out and asked for the bill to come.
Overall, the food here is not bad at all and recommend this Sichuan style restaurant for...
