I stopped by Ume this morning after dropping off my kid around 10:45 AM, excited to try their new drink. I didn't realize they open at 11:00 AM, so I waited 15 minutes. By 11:05, when I walked up to the door, there were already 7-8 orders ahead of me, so I went back to my car to wait a bit longer.

At 11:14, I re-entered the store. At the front counter, there was a mom with a little boy who seemed curious and playful—he touched one of the drinks on the counter. Then I walked in, and he ran off to the side. The mom was still talking to the staff about trying samples, and the staff member pointed at what seemed to be my drink, asking if that’s what she meant.

Now, as a mom and a pretty detail-oriented customer, I really enjoy the drinks here—but I do think there’s room for improvement in handling ready-to-pick-up orders. Maybe consider placing finished drinks in a less high-traffic area, away from other guests or wandering little hands. I ended up wiping down my cup, but truthfully, I didn’t know if the child had touched it or not. It’s hard to say, but I still drank it.

Also, just a small note—the Milpitas location uses sealed lids for the same drink, which I really appreciate. The Fremont store, however, uses plastic caps with no seal. If there had been saliva, it could’ve easily gotten into the drink due to the lack of...

Visit this place if you'd like to receive the worst possible customer service there is in the tea industry. Folks there don't appear to have any desire for more orders ! When approached for more than 20 drinks for a company event, there is no sense of urgency nor any attempt to make it easier for the customer to place orders, rather, canned responded three different questions I asked with the exact same robotic reply. Questions were : 1. can I order one day prior since you open at 11AM and we'll need to pick up at 1PM, want to make sure this isn't rushed, 2. can you mark names on each of the cups so it'd be easier for folks to grab, 3. Can we email or text you the order details so you can process the order directly? The canned response was word for word the following : "Yes, you can place order online." , THREE TIMES! Not answering to any questions that were asked.

All this lameness aside, for the 20+ drinks that was ordered, we did not receive the corresponding stamp card stamps (the buy 10 get 1 free drink stamp card), and it was not already deducted from the balance.
