Sharing my recent experience. No issues with the quality of bhaji. I eat pav bhaji very often be it physically eating at the Fremont location or pick up or even go to the food truck. I don’t mind paying their increased price for the quantity as I understand things have gotten pricey post Covid. This past week I ate pav bhaji 3 times from their Fremont location.
Every time I go there I can’t enjoy my food as I am worried about my car being towed. So I asked the Indian guy at the register if there were any parking spots (not the 15 mins one that is on Fremont Blvd) that I can park but he attacked me saying “I don’t control parking and I need to figure it out myself”. I rephrased and asked what do other customers do when they come to eat here? There is literally no parking ever. He got all excited and told me rudely if I had come inside to argue about the parking or eat? At this point I figured the guy is just rude by nature. He did not want to listen and said do u see signs out here go figure the parking. I even referred to him as “Sir” to calm him down but it was a waste. I was not expecting this kind of behavior from him. Since I am writing a review, I might as well mention how this Indian man at the register always tries to sell me water, extra pav or soda. I almost feel like telling him to be quiet but I politely say no thanks. Infact many times I order online to avoid dealing with him. By doing this he is simply annoying customers. Tap Water is FREE yet this place can’t provide and tries to upsell. Bad strategy. This is the least you can do to earn the loyalty of your customers.
At this point service means a lot to me and as I said I am willing to pay extra but this rude behavior is not accepted. My friends have felt the same about this Indian guy and I see few ppl have stated in their reviews. I am not looking for any free stuff. Please train this Indian guy so other customers don’t have to experience what I did. You may want to promote Mexican guy who is 10x better in...
Read moreThis place should be set as standard for any Indian casual restaurants in bay area. Great interiors, so much of space/light seatings, eco friendly cutlery and boxes. Their restroom is also so neat and well maintained. Owner has taken so much of effort/time/money to set this up. Its Pav-bhaji and it should savored hot from tawa. Buns are really good and they make them in house. Don't order frm delivery apps and leave bad review, as it reaches ur home it will be cold and wont taste that great. How could any one expect food to be hot from delivery apps. Juices are fresh & cold pressed, u cant keep them for long, it will become stale, specially orange/pineapple. so don't order from delivery apps. Pricing on delivery apps will be more as those companies charge anywhere between 25-30% per order. So restaurants have to bump the prices accordingly. I felt one thing missing, water. They can keep water dispenser with paper cups as its basic thing in any indian restaurant, can't expect the customers to buy water. :-) Any one visiting or passing via Fremont dnt miss this place. Hope to see many more branches of Pav-bhaji Hut across USA and wish their team all the success. Lets make "Pav-bhaji great even...
Read moreIt's a unique restaurant that specializes only in Pav Bhaji.
That's the main reason I decided to visit. Also because it's an Only Vegetarian food joint. I always try to encourage such places.
We tried one plate each of Spicy Pav Bhaji and regular Pav Bhaji with extra Pav.
The spicy one was too spicy for my liking and I wanted to drink a glass of water after 2 bites, so I'd recommend trying the regular one which was perfect for me.
I first thought that regular one could be bland, but thankfully I could appreciate the flavors more. With spicy Pav bhaji, all I could focus on was the hotness of the chillies.
The interiors were great. I especially loved the wall of inspiration that had quotes from famous personalities in various fonts. I read the whole wall while finishing one plate of pav bhaji.
Like some reviews mentioned, prices are towards the higher end compared to other restaurants which have a varied menu. With taxes, it was $13-14 per plate.
But I would still recommend trying and then decide...
