I love this place. Good amount of seating. Pre-covid, I'd sit here every so often to work. Staff is friendly.
Pastries are good! They have sweet pastries and savory ones. Good variety. I've also tried 85 degrees, sheng kee bakery, kei wah bakery, and Paris baguette. It's not completely comparable since I usually go to each bakery for different reasons and a very particular taste. For Tous Les Jours, I'm a fan of their milk bun, their milk bread, and toasts. They have red bean bun, and sweet potato bread. I think these are also good.
As for cake, my absolute favorite is their cloud cake series with the chiffon layers. It's one of the most moist melting textures I've ever had for cake. The white cloud cake is my favorite. The matcha and strawberry are also good. It's a fluffy cake and the cream isn't excessively sweet either. I've also tried their spoonable tiramisu and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I also tried their drinks as well. The coffee is pretty good--I usually order an ice coffee. Full and bold flavor. The matcha latte is also really balanced between milk and matcha flavor. Great size for the price and quality.
Keep in mind, this is a smaller bakery than your average 85 degrees, Paris Baguette. So variety is slightly different and may be smaller. I do think this bakery cafe holds its own value...
Read moreWhenever I come by at this plaza, this place comes in my mind and decided to try it out. Basically, it’s a bakery that sells bakery items that are made by French and Asian ingredients combined. There weren’t many items when I got over to the pastry sections. Some are either low in stock or out of it. Perhaps, many people came here during the morning to grab and buy them before heading off to work or something. There are items that are stored in the display glasses, shelves, or heating device for hot food. They do have trays for you to select items and put on top of them.
At the bright side, the interior looks really nice though. However, it is quiet and empty and only 1-2 customers are here. Maybe it will be packed during peak hours but again, I came here during the afternoon on a Monday.
Besides all of that, I was curious about the Milky Bread that they had since it seems big and fluffy. I like how they wrapped it with a plastic like that and made the item look more elegant. When I bite the bread, it was quite sweet and chewy. I think it’s around 410 calories if I recall. Oh yeah, they do display calories as well as the serving sizes and counts in case you do keep track how much calories you consumed.
I’ll probably come back soon to try other stuff. Hopefully they don’t run out of...
Read moreJust bought the Peach and Fresh Cream cake for the first time and it looked promising for $38 and I love all their cakes. Unfortunately the rude associate, Jordan, did not tell me the cake would need to thaw before serving because they place it in a freezer. I started to try to cut the cake to serve at a party as soon as I got home with it 20 minutes later and the cake is a crumbled mess and frozen chunks. Had to serve plates of frozen crumbs and throw the rest away because it is thawing so horribly and now looks unappealing. When I called the store Jordan admitted he didn’t mention the cake needs to thaw and didn’t seem to offer any options to fix the situation (refund? Discount the next cake I buy? A genuine apology?) he just didn’t seem to care that the warning to wait for the cake to thaw is a vital piece of information to tell customers and he said because of policy there is nothing he can do.
Next time I go I’ll remember to ask if I need to thaw the cake so I don’t waste my money or time again....
