I ordered a 5$ sushi roll, and have deathly allergies to ginger & made sure to explain this to the woman on the phone. Well we picked up our food, I went back to work & found they substituted the wasabi for extra ginger ( no problem) I call them to ask for a replacement meal and explained to the “Manager who was a guy with his whole right are tattooed up”, letting him know I am highly allergic to ginger and is there any way I could get a replacement on my 5$ roll. I explained I wouldn’t be able to come until after work which is 10pm tonight and he told me to hold onto the sushi rolls until the next day I’m able to come back up to FUJI and he will replace them. So I asked if he was wanting me to literally hold this sushi roll until a few days from now then return it to him ( because that’s when I would be able to come in next I am not from Monroe) he reiterated yes bring it back the next time. So I asked for the manager or person above him if he was the manager and he kept telling me no just bring back the sushi in a few days and I will replace it. For one I shouldn’t have to be responsible for holding food for multiple days knowing it’s going to go bad by then, secondly the man told me he was the manager and he’s not getting anyone else nor giving me the contact information to the owner or management above him. So I left work, brought the food back up to them and asked for my money back, the “manager with the tattooed right arm had his fist clinched walking dang near chest to chest with me asking “ if we had a problem” I responded yes we do, you were very disrespectful on the telephone and I want my money back. He opened the register then shut it and told me no & acted like he was going to call the police, I again told him that I only want my money back so I can get back to work and he started arguing with me getting aggressive and asking me what I’m going to do about it and stated that I was acting all “tough” on the phone but what am I going to do about it now that I’m in person, so I once again let him know I wanted my money back that instant period or I would call the police, he still refused so I had my wife get her phone out and attempt to call the police, the man again got aggressive and called me a pu$$yy and told me that’s right you won’t do Sh#% and got my money out of the register and continued to make threats and say very very disrespectful things to me in which at that point I threw my change down and walked out of the restaurant. This WAS my absolute favorite place to eat until I felt that bodily harm was going to come of this situation by the manager from This restaurant. I will NEVER again put my life in danger to come eat at this place especially after I had ONE easily fixable issue by remaking my 5$ California roll smh, I feel ashamed of sending so many customers to this restaurant thinking that they would receive the upmost respect by they’re employees ( management) I cannot believe the manager almost started a physical fight over a 5$ sushi roll. I am a promoter, I get paid from r advertisements on my platforms and have been sending business to this restaurant for over 2 years! I will be taking down yalls to-go menu and 100% stop sending business to this restaurant until I have the owner of FUJI respectfully reach out to me with an apology and a full explanation on why I was physically threatened by the Manager over a 5$ sushi roll, just because he’s having a bad day and wants to act tough in front of his employees underneath him does not give him the right to EVER act that way in a position of authority while acting as the face of a business. I am disgraced by this near assault by someone who is a manager for one of my favorite sushi...
Read moreEdit to reply to the owners comment. Fish draped over rice is in fact nigiri, not sushi. If you were going to serve nigiri as the main part of the sushi for 2 meal then that should be specified on your menu. We definitely would not have ordered if we knew that was what we were getting. As a sushi restaurant owner you should know that. So no, we didn't misunderstand the menu.
We used to love this place, the sushi is really good. We did a carry out as usual. They didn't have what we usually order on the menu anymore so we decided to get the sushi lover for 2 meal which is 18 peices of chefs choice sushi and 2 rolls. I can't even tell you how disappointed we were in the selection the "chef choices" we were given. They definitely decided to take the lazy way with our meal, the only roll type of sushi in there was the 2 rolls that it comes with and the other 18 pieces of sushi was just a piece of fish draped over a ball of rice. No seaweed, no sauces, nothing. We felt totally ripped off, we paid $50 for a bunch of fish draped over rice and nothing fun to try at all. How disappointing. We won't be coming back after they totally...
Read moreHad a reservation on 1/25/25 for 12 people for bday - took 15 mins to place our order (11 people for hibachi, 1 for sushi) and over 1 hr and 15 mins for the chef to come to the table so for a 6:15 sit down we ate at 7:45. We had one person who ordered sushi -NO COOKING REQUIRED- and they did not receive their order until 20 mins after we finished ours, literally 8:00 pm. Sushi rice was very gluggy and had a sauce over the top that was not listed on the menu - we think it was to cover up the awful taste. Just awful. Forget it if you intend to have a drink - couldn't make a MaiTai, or even a bloody mary - they also don't offer coffee - 10 degrees on that day and they want to sell us a daiquiri - really? Hibachi food was barely passable but definitely not worth the over $400 we spent (not including tip) and the restaurant did not appear to be well organized - had to consistently find the waitress or manager to say "where is the darn sushi"....don't bother - go...
