First time we tried this Atwater Street Taco location. We loved the one in Flat Rock but moved to Monroe recently. Immediately greeted and seated. Server was friendly and wasn’t real familiar with the menu, but they’ve just recently opened. She tried her best and was a great server. I got the (shredded) chicken enchiladas with Verde sauce. It came with a side of rice (with corn) and refried beans. My husband got the braised beef fajita tacos, 3 deep fried corn tortillas. They don’t serve you free chips and salsa. You can order them as an appetizer. They also don’t serve fajitas. Fajita tacos or a fajita bowl are your choices for fajitas. No ground beef either. Several choices of meat (2 pork) 2 beef, shrimp, grilled or shredded chicken. Our dishes were tasty but I wouldn’t order the chicken enchiladas again. Just not wild about shredded chicken. The fajita tacos were yummy according to my husband. My only major complaint was the air conditioning was set so high, I could barely stand to stay and eat. I’d even grabbed a quilted jacket from our car and kept it zipped up the entire time. That’s why I gave only 2 stars for the atmosphere. We would recommend this place, but with the reservations...
Read moreIf you LOVED Atwater in Flat Rock, do yourself a favor, and just keep going to Flat Rock. I am not even slightly surprised that Monroe could take mine and my wife's favorite restaurant, with the same menu, and somehow make it terrible. We've been 3 separate times, each time hoping the last was just a one off, but sadly it wasn't. Our Queso was thicker than cold canned nacho cheese (unlike a smooth creamy queso in flat rock), the "salsa" tasted like marinara with half of the spices removed, my shrimp tacos came with ROTTEN STRIPS OF LETTUCE (which isn't even an ingredient in the dish), my kids got the wrong type of tacos and received pork instead of steak, and my wife's cocktails came garnished with rotten strawberries. Wait staff was nice but extremely pushy, which was very odd because they don't know the menu yet. The place looks nice inside, but other than that, it's a total fail. Ownership, I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope you see this so that potentially corrections can be made to get back to the brand that I've...
Read moreLove the food. Huge fans of the Flatrock location. We use to meet family and order take out during Covid and picnic in the park. We were very excited about the Monroe location. Not sure if it’s just growing pains. Food is great service is less than. Very slow, and inattentive servers especially at bar, seem to be annoyed to have patrons there. Very unpersonable and unwelcoming. Maybe it’s just growing pains and finding the right people, food is amazing. Will keep going as it’s one of my favorites, just would like to see better more friendly people serving their customers. The one mistake I have had in the several times I have been to the Monroe location was fixed quickly but again, I felt like I was the inconvenience. Also feel as if ordering more than one drink from the bar is not acceptable. Their take outs were on fire. In the little bit of time there maybe 15 easily 20 orders went out the door. Again, food is amazing. There was one guy, at the bar maybe last Wednesday, dreadlocks he was great. Hire...
