Had an aweful experience at this particular location in Monroe Michigan. We have shipped at this Aldi's since it's inception, employees were just neutral, until I had a return to make then it all changed for the worst! My wife and I talked to Anthony the manager at this location, he acted annoyed by having to make a return, he even told us that other people don't return stuff, implying that were terrible customers for trying to get a refund, even though I explained to him that we've never before had to do so either, except for the fact that our doctor put us both on food restrictions and the five items out fifty items purchased did not adhere to the doctors dietary changes. He huffed and puffed about having to make this return and I told him that we have never had any trouble at the Aldi's store in Woodhaven (Which I gave them a five for exceptional service, even though I live in Monroe), it didn't seem to matter to him, he just said tersely, find your items with the same prices and bring them up here, but wouldn't tell us the price of each item, we had to look it up ourselves. My wife is a manager at a similar type store and treats her customers like gold, which she now has a loyal following of the same customers coming back time and time again. When we figured out the price of the items and were able to get them equally replaced, at the cash register Sabrina tried to change us for other items that were part of there double refund policy, the extremely bad service made an impact on us, we're in our sixties and am not used to being treated in such a fashion as this, the Woodhaven store is absolutely amazing, great customer service and no problems with their manager's whatsoever, in fact they go out of their way to give good service, so in conclusion, we will not shop at this Aldi's location ever again, despite how close they are to us, we will make a half hour trip out to...
Read moreAs much as I hate those sniveling conniving little s** that run Aldi's , I have to admit the store and it's selection is five-star top notch. I have to be unbiased. As far as pricing and quality of products they are great. It's a great place to go honestly. I don't like Aldi's because they are very discriminatory in their hiring process. Insider info tells me they have those hiring events where you come in just to fill an application that you could have filled out online is for a reason. They want to see who is actually turning in the applications because they prefer to hire mostly young people. They purposely do that. Also it pisses me off that they have those manager trainee For Hire signs at the front for $24 an hour because I was told by a manager that they never recruit any managers using that program. You actually have to work your way up from cashier. So why are they playing these games and keep putting ads out for the manager trainee program. I had a friend who was loaded with manager experience plus had a college education yet they wouldn't pick him for the program. I was confused until the real...
Read moreIf you want a QUICKER trip to the grocery store to buy most of what you need and you were planning to go to Meijer.... consider stopping here first. The prices are lower. You might get all or most of the shopping done, and quicker than you would. If you are picky about getting your favorite brand name items, go pay more money for them elsewhere. Bring a quarter (the rental deposit for a shopping cart), and your own grocery bags (you have to buy the bags otherwise). The lines move very quickly thanks to the few efficient cashiers and they don't accept credit, but they do take debit, ebt & cash. There's no need to ask someone to help you find things since the store is so small you'll likely glance at everything before you go. It's a very efficient place. I usually go intending to just get some produce and a few things and end up spending about $60 instead, which at Aldi is actually gets you lots...
