This place is a gem hidden in Chinatown. It is my favorite place to grab breakfast and lunch. It makes you feel at home and the informality of it makes it really special. The grill sits 5 feet away from you and “pops” (that’s what regulars call him) turns around and asks “do you want an egg on top?”. My fiancé asked me where I wanted to eat for my birthday, I said Ho Ho Kafe. “Momma” (that’s also what regulars call her) is the sweetest lady and her children are really attentive. I was working abroad for 2 years, came back and she remembered me. This is where I wanna spend my money. The food is fantastic and inexpensive, large portions, good bang for the buck. People criticize the dirtyness and that the walls are dirty and what not. If you’re looking for something posh this is not the spot. If you’re looking for something homey, this is the spot. The fridge full of sodas, veggies, meats and random stuff give it a unique atmosphere and it’s always popping, especially on weekends. I have never written a review before, this is my first and probably my last. Just wanted to show my appreciation for what this place...

I finally had a day off work to try it for myself. The area is currently under construction on the road but that didn't stop the place from being packed. I knew I had hit a jackpot when I saw some of the construction workers eating and enjoying the food. Not only do they serve breakfast but they also have an extensive lunch menu. The ambience is small, homemade and familiar. The restaurant is quite small but the food and flavor profile packs a punch. I ordered a cup of coffee and was pleasantly surprised at how strong it was. I decided to go with the beef steak and eggs and added onions and peppers along with a side order of pancakes. The food came out fairly quickly and everything was delicious! The pancakes taste to homemade and everything is done on an open air Grill behind the counter. I definitely...
Read moreWent here on a Saturday morning. Place was busy and parking not too hard to find.
Nestled in a mostly-rundown area of DTF is this hole-in-the-wall establishment that serves American (and a few Mexican) plates, Chinese and Japanese plates and soup. A very unusual combination, but it works well here because the place was consistently busy while we ate.
Someone comes by and quickly asks what you need and promptly brings you the food. I had their huevos con chorizo plate with pancakes on the side. You can immediately taste the oil from the griddle they've had for the last 15 years. The grease is so prominent and delicious AF! Looking at the cooks, they are very efficient because they have a tray with plates ready to be served.
Overall, such a unique place. The prices are very low for the deliciousness you get. Cash only! All walks of life come here and I highly recommend you...
