Stayed here for a week while in town for a wedding. Upon checking in they asked me to change my room accommodations for a guess checking in later on in the week. I obliged the request until they proceeded to try and charge me an additional $10 per day for my stay. I then refused the request for the room change.
Breakfast service was horrible. We attempted to get breakfast at 7:30 am in the morning and to our surprise almost everything was out. We asked if anything will be replenished and the employee said no which was infuriating. How do you not restock your breakfast items for quests that early in the morning?!
The weather was in the 100's the week we stayed there and their ice machine was down. One morning I went into the office to ask for ice for my water bottle. I took of the cap and they fingered the inside of my water bottle so I asked for it back so I could wash it out before he refilled it. After filling 1 portion of ice with a plastic bowl the worker then used his hands to grab ice to fill the bowl which is nasty and not sanitary. How did you fill the 1st portion fine but proceed to use your hands after I washed out my water bottle and pointed out it wasn't sanitary you fingered my water bottle? Instead of escalating the situation I just took it and left. I got ice and water somewhere else...
Aside from a very very dirty floor the first night we where there it was cleaned up nicely after adressing the issue. After that we got towels daily and our beds were made daily without having to request it. The housekeeping crew was great. We even left a tip for them.
The location is a few minutes off the interstate which makes almost everywhere we needed to go 15-20 mins North and East easy to get to. A hotel is just a place to stay over night for us everywhere we go but service is always an important aspect of the stay but this place highly lacked it. I'd reccomend staying elsewhere for 10-20 dollars more a night. Breakfast service will probably be better too. While service, and breakfast sucked the location and housekeeping made...
Read moreIf it were possible to give negative stars, this would get negative stars. Possibly one of the worst hotels I've stayed at. Upon arrival the lobby was locked and I couldn't check-in for almost 2 hours because no attendant or manager was available. Again, the check-in lobby was locked. The room I was assigned had a broken and unusable fridge. The door wouldn't close all the way and had water pooled underneath it...so no fridge use. There were people frequently going in and out of this place all night, until about 3 am, and were incredibly loud going about whatever business they were up to....people yelling, slamming doors constantly. The air conditioner was incredibly loud as well. Good luck trying to sleep with the obnoxiously loud people and air conditioner combined. Almost worst of all was trying to leave in the morning. Again, the lobby was locked in the morning and had to ring a doorbell to wake the attendant...more time spent waiting. Going to my truck in the parking lot I noticed that the parking lot was left to be over filled. There were cars parked double deep all the way into the single lane exit and entry. This posed a SERIOUS fire risk. The only way I was able to escape this place was with some very careful driving through a maze of cars going out the entry way. I called Best Western to discuss not being able to check-in at the time I arrived. Their reservations department did NOTHING but refer me to Customer Relations, who were conveniently closed. I made a follow up call to Customer Relations and got only an apology. They said any sort of refund for this horrid experience would be left to the hotel management to approve. Do not stay here, and for that matter, do not trust any Best Western to do the right thing for their customers. I will never again stay at any best western or affiliated hotel. Friends of mine stayed at the hilton nearby and had a completely different experience, albeit paying more, but it was worth not putting your...
Read moreDisappointed and Unwelcome — A Loyalty Member Let Down||As a long-time Best Western loyalty member, I was disappointed by my recent experience at SureStay by Best Western Fresno Central. I’ve stayed at several BW locations — including a SureStay in Salt Lake City just last month — and have had only great experiences. Unfortunately, this property didn’t meet that standard.||I found the hotel on Priceline for $73 but, knowing that hotels often honor or beat third-party pricing, I called ahead. The front desk agent quoted me $69 for a direct booking, which I appreciated.||However, when I arrived, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming from the moment I stepped through the door. Despite a bell ringing and a clear view into the empty lobby, I received no greeting. Instead, the front desk agent continued joking around beind the desk with someone who turned out not to be a staff member but a friend.||When I handed my ID over and inquired about the $69 quote from the night before, the price had inexplicably jumped to $89. There was no explanation or apology, and when I asked if he could at least match the Priceline rate, I was told no. The agent made no effort to acknowledge my loyalty status or offer a reasonable resolution. Left with few options, I ended up using the Best Western website to search for another nearby property.||I’ve never had to do this before at any Best Western — and I couldn’t help but feel that the indifference I experienced was tied to more than just policy. I don’t make this claim lightly, but the lack of acknowledgment, sudden price change, and refusal to assist didn’t feel coincidental. It’s unfortunate when customer service falls so short that it leaves you wondering whether race played a role.||For insight as to why this calculation tallied up, pick up my book, The Work From Home Anti-Racist Action Guide, where books are sold.||I hope this feedback is taken seriously. Best Western usually lives up to its reputation — this...
