IHOP — Restaurant in Fresno

My family and I were coming back from Yosemite when we decided to stop at IHOP at 3418 W Shaw Ave in Fresno. The truth is, that some IHOPs are better than others and we weren't sure what we were getting into here.

However, I must say that this location is one of the best IHOPs I've been to! Although there was practically no one there (we were there on Wednesday at 7pm) I had a great experience!

The server, Julia was very attentive and fulfilled all our requests (more napkins, another side of ranch, etc). She was very courteous and kind and had a nice attitude!

The cook definitely deserves some praise.... I had Sirloin Tips and Shrimp with broccoli and it was terrific! Well cooked, not charred or raw... hot at tableside, not waiting under a heat lamp (thank you, Julia!)... the broccoli was perfectly cooked (which is not easy to do!), not hard and raw, and not overcooked and mushy. The side salad was crisp and not wilted. I'm no food critic, but this food was well prepared and fresh.

The restaurant was clean, well lit and in good condition (some IHOPs are run down and dirty with torn seats).

All in all, I would highly recommend this IHOP! I've always liked the menu (and coffee) at IHOP, but it has become difficult to find an IHOP that is clean, in good condition, with a courteous staff and a great cook, but this one (in my opinion) had an A+ rating across the board! My respect to the management for keeping a great IHOP!

The WORST service and experience I’ve ever had at any restaurant. I’m not one to post reviews but you NEED TO DO SOMETHING WITH YOUR HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!. Last weekend I had family from out of town come over so we decided to have a special breakfast at the Shaw and Valentine location in Fresno CA. It was the worst decision I could’ve made . To pay a total of 250$+ for HORRIBLE service . COLD food & the worst attitude by our server. We waited 46 min for our food which arrived cold. And we timed it because our server took 14min to even come ask us if we wanted any drinks. I had to get up and ask another server for refills on coffee after 15 min of not being attended by our waiter. And this was BEFORE our food. After she brought our food she had the audacity to give us attitude when we asked for ONE plate to be warmed out of the 8 cold plates we had cold .. the eggs were disgusting and white and creamy . The only thing that was done right was a salad and my niece’s Nutella crepes she loves. It was a total embarrassment of myself towards my family to bring them to be treated so poorly . We had to take silverware and sauces from an empty table because our server didn’t take any!!! If I would’ve known i was paying 200$+ for horrible service, cold food, and the worst attitudes I would’ve definitely gone to Denny’s down the street or cooked all the dishes myself for 1/8 of the price they cost. Food was cold took about 45 minutes to get food the cashier only charged 1 order and I notified that there was a roach actually pointed it out to waitress nothing was done the roach went about it's way into the kitchen I know they could have done better being such a popular place I was very surprised my boyfriend said Never again will he go there and this is the most honest review they will get I suggest the owner look at his cameras to see this is no lie Welp update my boyfriend got an IHOP gift card, so he took me back to the same place. I told him the last review was not good, so here goes the update, unfortunately not good my boyfriend wanted the steak it was not available and then he switched to chicken fried steak also not available I ordered the salmon now I make salmon and it's delicious 😋 the salmon I got was plain no flavor it didn't have salt or pepper ugh ! It's just NOT GOOD! IHOP to me was one of the best I just don't understand what happened to this particular restaurant, and for being mother's day there were 2 people and a child when we got there, no one else a few dirty tables I don't understand if the place isn't busy it should look immaculate if I was manager trust it would be clean there's so much more I can say but I don't have space lol it needs a whole new crew my...
