I'm sure others have had similar experiences. I apologize but this will be long. Even with some locations closing, it hasn't helped this company. Unfortunately, the service still falls short. My twin sister was going to pick up a lemon cream pie (all the way from Sanger, Ca) July 29th for my niece's bday. I went with her. We were greeted right away by a friendly new employee which was great, but when my sister asked not once, but twice to add the whip to the top the employee must have somehow forgotten. She never opened the box and showed us the pie once it was paid for. We got back to the truck and decided to check it since we were headed so far away. This wouldn't be the first time Marie Calendar's has gotten it wrong and we trusted it was right, to then have to get random whip cream at a store instead. Driving from 25 mins away, it isn't convenient to just drive back and have them "fix it". Sure enough, it was wrong this time as well and we had to go back inside to have them make it right. I have a gripe about customer service here! Pay attention to detail!! If someone tells you its for a birthday, that means its not a random dessert its a special occasion. There are so many other businesses you can spend $20/pie at and get great customer service for that cost. Train your employees to value every customer and strive to do better. Appreciate the job, appreciate the business. If you can't you are clearly in the wrong...
Read moreWhen we arrived, we were asked to wait to be seated. Another party of 3 walks in and also told to wait to be seated. They went to seat them 1st. I went to the counter and told the lady we were here 1st. She had a bad attitude about it, She tried to seat us in a 2 ppl booth, which we would obviously not fit. I was still nice and told her we would not all fit, she let out a deep breath. Said well lets try this one. She threw the menus at us. I should have just left then but maybe she was just having a bad day. Then the bar tender took our order. All of our menus were at the end of the table for him to take, and he asked us to hand them to him. We ordered chicken pot pie with clam chowder , which had no taste, and the clam chowder was awful in taste. ( buy the ones at the store, they taste better) We were not asked about our food once after receiving. On the other hand, he was very social and pleasant with everyone else. We were done with our food and just sitting with the plates stacked for about 10 min. Before he came and said, "What pie do you want, do you want it to go? It felt like we were treated badly because of the initial problem. Our drinks were never refilled. I have never been treated so badly, I know people have bad days. But I believe this staff needs to be retrained in hospitality and manners. Needless to say, I will never come back. I would not recommend this...
Read moreI ordered a $30.00 Christmas dinner for 1 on grub hub, this being the actual dinner TOTAL before all the delivery service fees, Marie Calendar’s definitely dropped the ball.
I actually don’t expect best quality service and good quality food when our food is being delivered through a third party delivering service, and in this case the delivering service exceeded my expectations, however Marie Calendar’s did not.
The least a restaurant can do is to ensure their customer receives everything they order, especially when all the restaurant is doing is preparing the food, and not providing the extra services to a customer as they do when a customer is physically present as a guest.
$30.00 for 1 Pineapple glazed ham dinner and there was not one single pineapple in sight as the menu details displayed “ with Chipotle Pineapple Sauce”, only got two slaps of dry pieces of cut ham.
Dinner came with a side salad Salad and dressing of your choice. Did not receive my Italian dressing. Just got a dry salad mix that was clearly straight from a bag and put into a container.
Next time around, I will just stick to my Costco holiday dinners and Costco’s delicious holiday pies 😋. We will def get more...
