California is a crowded market when it comes to a good burger joint. That, hopefully creates a drive for better burgers. Triangle Drive-In definitely doesn't disappoint in that regard. Triangle Drive-In is very much a chain local to the Central Valley area that also has a late 50's, early 60's diner theme (another trend with places like In-N-Out that do similar theming). Probably my only real nit-pick is with the decor as the ceilings are normal drop-down panels with 45s on them; goes with the theme, but if the ceiling wasn't plain panels and decorated a little smarter, I think it would work better. The real draw, of course, is the food. Their burgers are nice and fresh and the patty I had was very juicy and well-cooked. Plenty of lettuce and tomato and other fixings on there as well as that California "special" sauce as the main condiment. For my dinner there, I had their bacon cheese jumbo burger combo. Already talked about the patty, but the bacon was also done well and plenty of melted cheese to go with it. The crinkle-cut fries were also nice and fresh; the fact they weren't heavily salted down is a plus to me. Also a big plus is that for dining in, they actually have big cups to load with ketchup which is sorely lacking in most fast-food joints these days. Most of their combos are between $10-$15. As much as the big fast-food chains charge for a decent combo, with the quality, flavor and filling of Triangle's burgers, this is a much better deal. Also think it's better than some of the fancier sit-down burger restaurants and their fancy burgers, too. Show the merit of KISS, doesn't it? They also do really good shakes and ice cream too. I ended up ordering a hot fudge shake to accompany my meal. Fot fudge is one of those flavors that is easy to bungle. Triangle knocked it out of the park. The hot fudge was really rich and chocolately and smooth and the ice cream was nice and thick, too. Another big plus here; looks like Triangle knows how thick their shakes are and came prepared with those wider straws. Really makes enjoying a shake much easier (take note, Wendy's and Cook Out - shakes need wider straws). Are these the cheapest shake out there? Nope, but these shakes are well-worth the price and a medium shake IS the same size as a medium soda. If you're looking for a great place for a burger and shake in Central Valley, definitely visit Triangle Drive-In and you won't be...
Read moreFirst time customers dined in at the Barstow & First location. Restaurant seemed like a good environment and food looked good we had their special 2 ABC Burgers. After we ate and went home was the issue. About 20 mins after eating our meal we both felt very sick (stomach cramps & diarrhea ) my husband also threw up. I called the establishment and asked to speak to a manager , the man who answered the phone stated he was the manager (Ali) and I discussed with him that I had every reason to believe that we became sick from what we had just ate. He instantly became irritable and irate saying he didnt know what I was talking about. I told him that food borne illness and cross contamination is most likey the problem. He said he had never heard of those two things. As a manager myself working in the food industry I instantly knew something was very wrong here. He then hung up on me , I called back and he placed me on hold and when he got back on the phone said that the manager would talk to me the following day and that he wasnt the manager. Not only did we get sick, I was treated with horriable customer service and lied to. This establishment...
Read moreI went into this place with a little higher expectations, it had been doing very well with many positive reviews. There are several locations in Fresno, CA. There are always some nice classic car meets at this location, it just seemed like the perfect all american burger place. But I don't know what happened? Someone dropped the ball on this day. May be, just may be, the whole staff was new? I don't know, possibly the cook was on break? For some reason my burger was cold, fries were mediocre, the ice cold soda was hot(Okay over exaggerating on that one), but it wasn't as hyped as it seemed to be. There was a drizzle, may be more like a sprinkle, or a pinch of thousand island sauce on my burger that i couldn't taste. The burger was more of room temperature cool, and didn't have much flavor, the patty was thin and the fries were just... OK. I really wanted to like this place but was disappointed, unfortunately I think there are better burger places in Fresno for the same price, won't be back...
