Linda’s isn’t just a donut shop. It’s like accidentally walking into your grandma’s kitchen, except your grandma actually likes you. The service is the kind where the cashier looks at you for two seconds and somehow knows if you need coffee before words even come out of your mouth. It doesn’t feel forced either—it’s not that weird corporate “we value your business” tone. It’s just… people being people. Which is so rare now it feels revolutionary. The place has this soft, lived-in energy. Like the tables have heard secrets. Like the walls have absorbed sighs. You sit down with a donut, and suddenly you don’t feel like a customer. You feel like someone who belongs.
And maybe that’s why it hit me harder than expected. Sitting there, powdered sugar on my hands, I got slammed with this memory of my dad driving me to school when I was a kid. He’d stop at this hole-in-the-wall café—not even for himself, just because he knew I liked the muffins. He’d always let me have the first bite, then steal the rest. At the time I hated it. Now I’d give anything to have him annoy me like that again. Funny how donuts can carry ghosts.
I sat in Linda’s and thought about how those rides ended when he got too sick to drive. How the silence in the car after that felt heavier than anything. How breakfast stopped being something simple and turned into another reminder that nothing lasts. But Linda’s—this silly little shop with its chipped mugs and the hum of the fridge in the corner—made me feel like those mornings weren’t gone. Just sleeping somewhere in the smell of warm sugar and coffee.
So yeah. Five stars. Not just for the donuts. For making me feel like life circles back sometimes, even if it’s only for a few minutes over...
Read moreLinda's donut shop, is a near and dear place to my husband and I's heart and family. We stop here every Sunday before church and have breakfast, coffee and drinks. And often embrace Mrs. "Linda", and have good conversation with her, and her husband. She is so welcoming, offers a friendly and pleasant atmosphere in her place of business. Her donuts and donut holes, are the BEST we have ever had!!! And I enjoy her breakfast tacos, with the homeade salsa of hers is a must! My husband always gets the Chappel Hill jalapeno sausage kolache, and "special" coffee. She always offers and gives extra! Such a kind woman and man. I highly recommend stopping here, at least ONCE, if its doesn't become a part of your routine also! Thank you for your time to read all this. And thank you "Mrs.Linda" for all you do. It doesn't go un noticed. Love you, and may God...
Read moreCame here for the kolache and was not disappointed. A nice variety of different flavored sausages (spicy boudain was my favorite--like dirty rice in bread for those unfamiliar--followed by the garlic sausage). Prices are very reasonable with the mini kolache coming in at a mere 40 cents each.
In addition to the food itself, the wan who runs the story is very honest and super friendly. She originally had failed to clear the register from the previous order and had given us a total we didn't realize was wrong; however, she caught it right away and proceeded to manually calculate it for the new, correct total. She even threw in an extra kolache for the trouble.
Amazing service and great food. If you're in the area, you should...
