Marble Slab Creamery — Restaurant in Friendswood

I'd give them zero stars if it allowed. So the Friendswood Marble Slab website shows $4.99 for a pint and $6.99 for a quart of plain ice cream. I questioned this pricing because their board in the store shows $9.99 for a quart. The first employee said the online prices are incorrect and pointed at the board for the prices. Then she said something to the other worker in the store and she said that those prices are not for this store and that online it says that prices could vary between stores. I explained that the website I was on was for the Friendswood store and showed them both my phone with the lower prices and how it specifically said it was for the Friendswood store. The first employee looked at me and said the other employee's name. The 2nd employee then proceeded to tell me those were online prices. I actually didn't realize I could order online. So I asked her if I ordered online standing in the store would the price would be the $4.99 and $6.99? The employee said she didn't know and offered nothing else except to stare at me with no other explanation or offer to honor the online price. Since they weren't going to honor their advertised price I walked out and went to Dairy Queen. They honor their coupons and prices from online. When I got home I wanted to test this online ordering. So I attempted to order the ice cream online and the soonest it would allow me to pick up 2 quarts of hand picked plain ice cream was 3 days from today. Not a friendly store and the website needs some updating if you have to wait 3 days to get a quart of ice cream. Got there about 9:20 on Labor Day evening. Two women were standing around and the store was empty. Fine, whatever, if there's no customer, do what you do. Except, the counter was dirty, ice cream puddles and cone crumbs all over. Same with the tables. Kinda bad when people are just standing around but I don't pay them . My biggest issue was that I chose this particular location because on their site it said a quart of ice cream was $14.99 which is $1-$2 cheaper than the other 2 locations near me and I figured I could get in and out quick. The $14.99 quart ended up being $24 and some change. $9 almost for snickers mixed in and 4 cones. Every other location gives you at least 2 cones with their over priced ice cream included with the quart. She said the cones were $3 so $5 plus for one snicker bar??? That's UNREASONABLE. I will NEVER go back to this...

I came in to get a waffle cone with 2 flavors (sweet cream and butter pecan) and some mix-ins. I was told by the tall Indian lady that the slivered almonds and heath bar I wanted was not allowed. I have been buying this combination for years from Marble Slab in different locations. There’s was definitely a language barrier but it was obviously she knew what I was asking for. Friendswood is a small town so customer service really matters because people talk. The only friendly person there is the young Indian girl. Up until a few months ago Marble Slab was the only place to get real ice cream now there’s a competitor. I am not surprised that the overall rating is 3.7. Friendliness and a smile...
