Salseria — Restaurant in Friendswood

We were very eager to experience what we believed would be an amazing new place. To our disappointment, it turned out to be quite the opposite. There were so many issues that i don't even know where to begin. The majority of the employees were unaware and heedless. We were directed to sit at a table that was being cleaned off. Upon walking to this table you could tell they did not thoroughly wipe it down. The ground underneath the table was entirely soaked. We took our seats but realized it was far too dirty to sit at. Once my daughter requested the table to be cleaned, we waited and were overlooked while they attended to two other tables. The individual we requested to clean it simply stood by and observed us staring at her, yet no one took any action. We needed to signal the staff once more to come and clean it. If cleaning the table was such a problem, why would they care about the floor? Thus, I decided to leave it alone. About 15/20 min later, I noticed that three other tables, which were seated after us received chips and salsa, while we were never served any. I glanced around and observed one other table that weren't served any as well. The same worker looked at me blankly when i inquired about the chips. There were no napkins available on the table; you need to stand up and retrieve your own silverware and napkins. No issue, but none of this was communicated to us. Their seating arrangement is also terrible. We witnessed multiple tables become upset and exit the location. Even though I understand they have a system in place, it is not explained or documented anywhere. I 100% agree on the customers sentiments. The same individuals who had received chips and salsa also received their meals ahead of us, despite us ordering at least 10 to 15 min earlier. As our food began to arrive, the young server inquired if everything was fine; I responded that no, it was not at all. You all have truly failed to deliver. He lifted his shoulders more than once and walked away. He was not troubled at all by the problem. I will mention this, however: they indeed offer some of the finest food presentations, but with a staff like that, regardless of how impressive or lovely the presentation, it doesn't inspire a desire to...

Yes, I was influenced by Tik Tok! I will say I enjoyed my food that I was given, nice flavor and portion size! I ordered the famous chilaquiles with beef, barbacoa tacos, and breakfast taco. For beverages I had banana/ strawberry shake, and coffee de olla. Over all pricing was adequate. I enjoyed the presentation of the food as well. LOVED the music, great choice in the music made it enjoyable to eat while listening to good music! You’re a bit of a drive from my house, but I would absolutely return again!

Few reasons why I decided to give a 4 star.

You pay upfront. I can understand the reasoning why you prefer your customers to pay upfront, however it limits you from potentially making a higher sale. I enjoyed my food and wanted to add more ‘to-go’, but the thought of having to get up and paying again made me decide I didn’t need ‘extra’.

You have an up charge on the coffee de olla, but no refills. I would’ve gladly paid for another, but again having to get up and paying for another order was not it for me. Maybe price it higher and offer refills?

Temperature of the food was a little on the colder side. Given I don’t like my food pipping hot to the point I have to sit there a couple of minutes waiting on my food to cool off a little. My coffee, chilaquiles, and barbacoa tacos COULD’VE been a little warmer, in my opinion. They weren’t cold to touch, but just a tad bit warmer.

This place is a nightmare just walking in. We arrived on Sunday at around noon. We have seen this restaurant I believe on TikTok and we wanted to give it a try. The whole sitting arrangement is terrible and the ordering part is even worse, I will describe exactly how my visit went. We walked in and noticed it was pretty full with a few empty tables inside. Then we noticed that you have to order at the counter, so we look for it and it was a tiny counter at the very corner. We are in line to order or at least we thought we were in line, then one of the workers arrives and tells me that I have to get on the waitlist which I thought was OK not a problem, right? Well, as it turns out, we did get on the waitlist for a table however, you can’t order your food until your table is ready, but then when your table is ready, and you want to order your food, you have to go to the counter and wait in line to order your food . You also can’t order your food ahead of time because then where will you be sitting at? So you can imagine the confusion just walking in the door. I ended up just telling the guy that I wanted to eat outside because I seen two tables that were empty outside, but he completely disregarded me and proceeded to take the orders of about five or six other people that were behind me originally.
