Customer Service Rating a 1. Phone Order Buyer BEWARE. I was not allowed to cancel 12 of 42 cupcakes well over 30 hours BEFORE pickup time & well before my order had even started baking (per Bailey).

I’m a first time buyer at Smallcakes. I ordered 42 cupcakes over the phone with the Manager, Sarah. She was super helpful in suggesting flavors.

My son & his girlfriend went in to scope the place out for me & inquire about ‘to go’ boxes for any leftovers. He was told the order would have to be re-rung to include box prices.

Well over 30 hours before pickup of order I called to ask about the change in my order to add ‘to go’ boxes & cancel 12 cupcakes as the number of party guests were confirmed. Bailey said the Manager would contact me.

Sarah called back. She said the “owner” does not allow refunds or changes. So I was left confused. I cannot “re-ring up” my order as my son was told?

I have a picture of my online/rewards receipt, NOWHERE does it say no refunds or changes can be made to my order. Again, this is 30 hours BEFORE pickup or baking has begun (per Bailey when I called to make changes for boxes & number of cupcakes). ...

Here's the quick version: this area NEEDS this type of quality cupcakes! Every cupcake I've tried so far, is beyond delicious. The cake is moist (even the devil's food cake) and the frosting isn't overpoweringly too sweet (looking at you R*se). The size of the cupcake balances well with the frosting, the price 3.75 may be somewhat hefty but I think it's worth it for the quality. My final thought: customer service was pretty bad. She acted like she didn't want to be there or thrilled to see a customer. I ordered half a dozen and 3 needed to be boxed together while the other 3 needed to be boxed individually (going to different people) and it confused her terribly to put 3 cupcakes in a 4 count box. I feel like staff could be retrained on healthy, friendly customer service but at this rate, I'll definitely be back....

Giving it the 3 stars because the place was tidy, including the restrooms. Although we showed up 20 minutes before closing time (they close early, 8pm!!! ) we didn't want to be a crutch but this was our first time and we were really excited. The cashier was obviously tired and was very hesitant on helping us to the fullest - we understand it was 20 minutes until closing but geez. The flavors were available had some variety but I hear it changes weekly. I tried the cupcake smash which has cupcake and icecream and it was delicious - on the pricier side ($10) but the cup was big enough to share with someone. I would like to come back again and actually sit down and do a more in depth review, but as for coming and going place was nice and customer service could have...
