My husband and I had dinner here for date night last night, a Thursday. The restaurant was full, and it appeared that they only had one server plus a bartender and busser/food runner for eight tables and a full bar. Anyone who has ever worked in the food service industry knows that's WAY too many tables for one person during dinner rush. Christian was lovely and kind, but it was clear he was absolutely in the weeds from lack of appropriate staffing. Not his fault - maybe someone called in sick - but it definitely impacted our experience.
Unfortunately several mistakes were made. We couldn't eat our appetizer for about 20 minutes because they took our chips to bring us a refill for the spinach and artichoke dip and didn't bring them back until well after the entrees arrived. Then we watched as they gave my food to another table, then came over and explained what happened, so I sat and waited while my husband ate his meal, unable to eat my own meal or the appetizer that had grown cold while we waited for chips. We had been trying to get our server's attention to no avail. They finally brought chips while we waited for my entree.
They eventually brought my meal, which was disappointing after a long wait. I had the BBQ pork with poblano grits and "off the cob" elotes. The pork was WAY overcooked, dry, and tough, and the only flavor it had was the barbecue sauce brushed directly onto it. It looked like they cut up a larger piece of pork and cooked the hell out of it instead of cooking a larger piece properly and then slicing it for plating. The elotes had no flavor (just butter and a whisper of chili powder or smoked paprika), and the grits, while nicely textured, were missing seasoning. Very disappointing. My husband's burger was delicious, however, and I ended up eating what he didn't want instead of my own meal.
Directly after the mishap with giving my food away, someone (I assume he was the owner) came to apologize, but we weren't checked on again until well after we had both finished eating. Our server Christian noticed I hadn't finished my meal, and asked if there was anything wrong with the food. At that point, the time had well passed for fixing that mistake and I was ready to leave.
Overall, I'm unimpressed with a restaurant so highly rated. Drinks were tasty, and they did have lots of clearly marked items that were gluten free, which was nice, but out of the entire meal only the drinks, spinach and artichoke dip, and my husband's burger and coffee gelato were possibly worth...
Read moreUnfortunately, our recent visit to WB didn’t live up to expectations. While we’ve enjoyed meals here in the past, tonight felt like an off night from the start. Service was slow, which the owner attributed to being short-staffed—a reasonable explanation, though it didn’t account for the overall disappointing experience.
We started with the meatball appetizer, which arrived cold and even preceded our cocktails. To their credit, the staff remade the dish, and the second round was much better. Our Tommy Margaritas, however, were delayed and noticeably weaker than usual—missing the balance and punch we’ve come to expect.
For mains, we ordered the cod and salmon. On a previous visit, the cod was a highlight. This time, it was unfortunately mushy and carried a fishy flavor that suggested it wasn’t at its freshest. The salmon was over-seasoned and overcooked, leaving little to enjoy—especially at a $30+ price point.
Given the lackluster meal and slow pacing, we decided to skip dessert, even though that’s usually been a high point here.
We’re hoping this was just an off night rather than a sign of lasting decline. That said, with so many great options nearby, WB may be off our list for the...
Read moreWe ate at WB's Table last weekend with a party of 8 and… wow. Everything from start to finish was chef’s kiss.
We started with the spinach and artichoke dip, buffalo fried cauliflower, and the lobster sliders—which honestly deserve their own round of applause. SO good.
For entrées, our group tried a little of everything: three prime rib ribeyes (perfection), BBQ pork loin, beer can chicken (two of them!), the shrimp Caesar salad, and the salmon dish—and every single plate was polished off. Not a bite left behind.
Desserts were on point, and the drinks were strong (which I’m not mad about). The balance on a few cocktails could’ve been a bit better, but the Old Fashioneds were spot on.
Also—shoutout to our fabulous waitress who somehow managed to stay charming and unbothered by the two guys at our table who think they’re the funniest people on earth. 😂 She was patient, quick, and made the whole night run smoothly.
Overall, the food was phenomenal, service was friendly, and the vibe was super welcoming for a group night out. Definitely going back—and bringing more...
